Abstract: A shoe is provided having one or more selectively extendable spikes mounted to the sole. The sole contains one or more spike housings, each retaining a spring-biased spike selectively movable between a retracted or extended position with respect to the housing as desired. A slide member disposed in the sole of the shoe is manually operated to extend or retract the spikes.
