  • Patent number: 8091725
Abstract: An anti-twist device for a sealing cap that is located on a fixed connecting piece of a motor vehicle radiator. The sealing cap comprises an external cap part with a grip element and a sealing element, which can be connected to a counter sealing element of the connecting piece and in relation to which the grip element can be rotated. The sealing cap also comprises an internal cap part comprising a valve assembly that is configured in an excess/negative pressure combination. An anti-twist stop acts in the external cap part between the grip element and the sealing element. An anti-twist device of this type has a no-load function instead of a locking function and yet has a simple construction and is easy to produce. To achieve this, the anti-twist stop can be actuated by means of a drive, which is controlled by the operating data in the container and is located inside said container in close proximity to the external cap part.

  • Patent number: 8087529
Abstract: A safety closure for steam-pressurized containers of household appliances, such as steam irons, steam cleaners and the like. The safety closure is provided with an inner part that can be screwed onto the filling hole of the container, and with an outer part in the shape of a grip cap. A coupling element is provided between the inner part and the outer part and can be axially displaced against the effect of a spring by a drive controlled by the internal container pressure in such a manner that the outer part and the inner part are interconnected in a rotationally fixed manner when the container is not pressurized The connection being neutralized when the container is pressurized. The aim of the invention is to provide a safety closure whose components that are exposed to the pressure are more solid and therefore function more reliably and whose drive at the same time serves as a protection from an inadmissibly high excess pressure.

  • Patent number: 7896186
Abstract: A closure cap for the filler neck of a reservoir, in particular, one for fuel or motor oil for e.g. motor vehicles, comprising a grip and a rotating lifting device whose first part (sealing part) facing the grip is provided with a sealing ring and whose other part (tightening part), which faces away from the grip and which is provided with detent lugs serving to engage under a closure cap of the filler neck, can be turned relative to the filler neck when the closure cap undergoes a turning motion. The other part (tightening part) can, when the grip undergoes a turning motion, be axially displaced relative to the first part (sealing part) of the rotating lifting device against the force of a spring.

  • Publication number: 20070272690
Abstract: A sealing lid for a fixed nozzle of a container, particularly a motor vehicle radiator having a covering outer part and a covering inner part. The covering outer part comprises a sealing element for a container nozzle and a grip element which can be rotated in relation thereto. A locking piston acts between the grip element and the sealing element of the outer part of the lid. The locking piston, which can be disengaged by applying prestress to a spring or is disengaged, can be engaged by means of a pressure-controlled drive in the form of a membrane. The drive is connected to a pressure-transmitting arrangement positioned in the inner part of the container.

  • Patent number: 5071020
Abstract: In order to attach a radiator cap 1 by means of a bayonet lock 4, 5 at a radiator neck 2 and to be able herein to install a completely assembled pressure relief valve 35 and vacuum relief valve 40 at the radiator cap 2, a lifting counterpart curved surface 23 is provided so as to be spaced axially from each bayonet engaging curved surface 5. In addition a counterpart cam 26 is at least indirectly connected with each bayonet cam 4, especially if it is manufactured in one piece, which counterpart cam in connection with the lifting counterpart curved surface 23 causes the necessary lifting of the radiator cap 1 counter to the installation direction when the radiator cap 1 is opened. Furthermore, the lifting counterpart curved surface 23 is expediently fastened at plastic part, according to one embodiment of the invention, constituting the stub or neck of a compensation vessel or container 45. This stub is preferably fabricated to form one piece with the vessel 45 .

  • Patent number: 4511056
Abstract: A closure assembly particularly useful as a radiator cap for the radiator filler tube of a motor vehicle including bayonet connectors for removably fastening the assembly to a filler tube is formed with a vacuum valve and an excess pressure or relief valve formed on an inner cap assembly of the closure assembly, with the inner cap assembly being formed with a pair of telescopically slidable parts and with a compression spring which is preferably constructed as a cup spring in order to press one of the telescopic parts relative to the other to effect sealing engagement with the seat of the filler tube, the force of the cup spring being greater than the closing force of a load spring which is provided for the excess pressure or relief valve.

  • Patent number: 4436219
Abstract: In order to place a sealing cap, which is to be placed in particular on a filler neck of a gasoline tank, on the neck so as to preserve the seal with little actuation force but so that it seals securely, the sealing cap is equipped with a turning lifting apparatus (24, 43) which effects a pressing of the sealing ring (4) at the free neck end (5) when the turning stop (26) of the sealing cap encounters the counter stop (27) of the filler neck (1). A pressing member (23) is displaced in the axial direction against the resistence of a compression spring (25) in the turning stop (26) via the turning lifting apparatus and simultaneously moves a radial outer collar which is coupled with the turning handle (2) in the displacement direction and which is contacted by the sealing ring (4) against the free neck end (5), whereby the sealing ring is pressed together. By means of an indicator window (54) one can read off the fully closed position of the sealing cap with certainty.

  • Patent number: 4379470
Abstract: In the housing of a closing cap 2, a valve seat plate 3 is held in place by means of a resilient ring 8 forming at the same time a seal relative to the tank connection to which the closing cap is screwed by its internal thread 1. The valve seat plate 3 supports a sub-pressure valve 4 and an excess-pressure valve 5. Aside from its seal ring 13, the closing member 4 of the sub-pressure valve is made in one piece. The excess-pressure valve 5 comprises a loose valve disc 28 cooperating with a valve seat 27 of the valve seat plate 3. The closing spring 30 is non-rotatably secured to the valve disc 28 and bears by its other open end against a stop 37 so that, by turning the valve disc, the spring pressure is increased or reduced. For this purpose, the valve disc is actuated by a tool introduced through the outlet aperture 21.
