  • Patent number: 8778167
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining the location of the corrosion sites in reinforced concrete, wherein a value (UB, UC) of a voltage potential (UB, UC) present at each measurement location is measured at at least two measurement locations relative to a reference voltage potential (UA) present at a reference location, and information about the direction to the corrosion site (K) and/or the distance to the corrosion site (K) is determined from the location information (XB, YB, XC, YC) for each measurement location, particularly also the reference location, and the voltage potential (UA, UB, UC) present at each location.

  • Publication number: 20140170663
Abstract: A method for determining a replicative senescence status of a cell includes determining a methylation status of at least one CpG-dinucleotide within a region of at least one of about 50,000 bp upstream and downstream of at least one CpG-dinucleotide selected from the group consisting of GRM7-CpG-site #1, CASR-CpG-site #1, PRAMEF2-CpG-site #1, SELP-CpG-site #1, CASP14-CpG-site #1, and KRTAP13-3-CpG-site #1. The methylation status of each of the at least one CpG-dinucleotide determined is compared with a reference methylation status of the respective CpG-dinucleotide.

  • Patent number: 8574291
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrical linear drive, in particular for a pump system of an artificial heart, with a movable part and a stationary part, wherein the stationary part is formed by a permanent magnet arrangement and the movable part is formed by a coil arrangement, or vice versa, and wherein the coil arrangement and the permanent magnet arrangement can be moved to and fro relative to each other in an axial direction by means of current passed through the coil arrangement. The invention further relates to an electrical linear drive of this kind in which the permanent magnet arrangement is designed as a stack of frame-shaped, in particular ring-shaped magnets, which are magnetized alternately radially and axially in the axial direction, such that the magnetic field is strengthened on one side of the frame.

  • Patent number: 8509941
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for the machining of an object using a tool, in which the tool (2) or the object (18) is guided using a handling apparatus, which has multiple movement axes for the coarse positioning of the tool (2) or object (18), which form a kinematic chain. In the method, an additional actuator (3), which has a higher positioning precision in at least one dimension or axis than the other movement axes, is inserted between a terminal link (1) of the kinematic chain and the tool (2) or object (18). A relative movement of the tool (2) or terminal link (1) of the kinematic chain to the object (18) is detected using at least one sensor (5) and a deviation from a target movement path is compensated for using the additional actuator (3). The method and the associated device allow the use of robots or other handling apparatuses having lower path precision for applications which require a high precision during the guiding of the tool.

  • Patent number: 7989730
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining a lateral relative movement between a processing head and a workpiece during processing the workpiece as well as a device to carry it out. In the method a surface of the workpiece (12) is illuminated in the region of the processing head with an optical radiation (2). The optical radiation (3) reflected from the surface of the workpiece (12) in the region of the processing head is repeatedly detected in a locally resolved manner by an optical detector (9), which is firmly fixed mechanically to the processing head, to obtain optical reflection patterns. The repeated detection occurs in temporal intervals in which the temporally successive reflection patterns of overlapping surface regions of the workpiece (12) are obtained. The lateral relative movement is determined by comparing the temporally successive reflection patterns.
