  • Patent number: 4530280
Abstract: A printing hammer assembly for use in impact printers includes a printing hammer which has an impact surface and an armature and which is supported to be movable in a reciprocating manner along its longitudinal axis, a driving solenoid which drives to move the printing hammer forward when energized against the force of a coil spring which normally applies a biasing force to the printing hammer in the backward direction and a yoke leading a magnetic flux produced by said solenoid to the armature of printing hammer. A pair of magnets are disposed such that they are magnetically repulsive to each other with one of them fixed in position and the other movable over a predetermined distance thereby allowing to absorb the rebounding energy of the hammer when it returns to its home position.

  • Patent number: 4512229
Abstract: A musical scoring system for scoring music arranged in measures. The system preferably includes a keyboard unit having a plurality of keys, a clock generator, a counter for counting clock signals generated by the clock generator and a summing circuit for maintaining a running sum of a series of quantized note, rest length values during each measure of the music to be scored. When keys are operated at the keyboard unit, a subtracting and converting means subtracts the value then stored in the register from the value stored in the counter and quantizes the result to produce a new quantized note/rest length value. This new quantized note/rest length value is thereafter summed by the summing means to the value stored in the register. Preferably, at the beginning of each measure of the music to be stored, the contents of the counter and the register are cleared and the summing means, and subtracting and converting means are provided by a central processing unit.

  • Patent number: 4476767
Abstract: This invention relates to a keyboard input coding device comprising a counter for counting ON and OFF duration of signals obtained by pushing a keyboard, an encoder for producing codes of musical interval corresponding to keys of the keyboard, a note-length discriminating circuit for taking count values from the counter based on signals from the keyboard and discriminating a note-length, a note-length memory circuit for receiving or supplying the note-length data from or to the note-length discriminating circuit, a reference time generating circuit for supplying the note-length discriminating circuit with data of partitioning a musical section and a processing control circuit, wherein the discrimination of the note-length is effected by referring to the note-length between sequential notes according to data stored in the memory circuit, thereby a musical note with a note-length to agree well with intention of an operator is coded after correcting the key input duration data according to estimates made from th

  • Patent number: 4464061
Abstract: A linearizer circuit comprises a frequency mixer which mixes a first frequency varying in accordance with a change in a parameter and a second frequency from a reference oscillator which has no dependence upon any parameter at a given proportion, and a derivation circuit for producing an output pulse corresponding to the average period of an output from the mixer, thus providing a linearized output for the parameter. The linearizer circuit may be assembled into a watch as means to detect the environmental temperature of the watch. By detecting temperature information with this means, a temperature compensation of a clock signal may be achieved in accordance with a temperature offset from a reference temperature.

  • Patent number: 4358836
Abstract: An electronic watch including a watch circuit and display is provided which additionally includes an automatic time indication modifier. The modifier comprises a receiver, a filter for passing only that component of the signal from the receiver which has the same frequency as a time announcement signal, a pulse height discriminator for converting an output signal of the filter into a bi-level signal in accordance with the magnitude of the output signal above a threshold level, a time announcement pattern discrimination circuit responsive to the bi-level signal from the discriminator to determine the presence of a time announcement pattern on the basis of the duration of and the time interval between the bi-level signals, and a "seconds" indication modifying and control circuit for modifying a "seconds" indication of the watch in response to an output signal from the discrimination circuit.
