Abstract: A press tool for pressing a receiving part (1) of an installation element (2) onto a pipe (3) inserted into the receiving part has two press elements (5) which are connected so as to be movable relative to one another. The receiving part (1) has at least one section (4, 21) which is formed by the pressing process in such a way that the pressed-on section has an outer shape which is substantially constantly curved in the circumferential direction and is within a specified shape tolerance. Each of the two press elements (5) has, on the side facing the respective other press element (5), a pressing region (7, 24) which is assigned to the section (4, 21). At least one of the two press elements (5) is formed to be elastically deformable in such a way that, under the forces acting on the press element (5) during the pressing process, the shape of its pressing region (7, 24) changes.
