  • Patent number: 6588194
Abstract: A process for the level adjustment of the can plate of a sliver can is proposed which is in a filling position at the output of a textile machine to be filled with fiber sliver F. The can plate is moved before the start of the filling process by a first moving device from a lower can plate position into a higher can plate position and is moved into the lower can plate position during the filling of the sliver can. The process according to the invention is characterized in that the can plate is moved before the start or during the starting phase of the filling process by a second moving device from the higher can plate position into an upper filling position after the sliver can enters a position to accept sliver from the textile machine. Furthermore, a suitable apparatus to perform the process is presented.

  • Patent number: 6574526
Abstract: A procedure is provided for controlling individual components of a work station in a textile machine. The textile machine includes a plurality of the work stations with each work station having individual control devices. Components of the work stations are connected to a bus system, and the bus system is connected to a central control apparatus. A default value identifying address is set for the components. The central control apparatus recognizes that the components have been installed at the work stations and a recognition phase is initialized wherein the components are interrogated by the central control apparatus. The default address is converted to a component specific address for each of the components and the same type of components have different specific addresses. Operation of the components is controlled through the central control apparatus that communicates with selected components through their respective control device in accordance with their respective component specific address.

  • Patent number: 6553750
Abstract: A spinning rotor of an open-end spinning device is slowed down for piecing to a low rotational piecing speed and is then accelerated to the operating speed. For this purpose, the spinning rotor or an element in driving connection with it is presented a drive transmission device from a service unit by means of which the spinning rotor can be switched from normal production speed to a reduced piecing speed and back. In this process, the drive transmission device can be driven either by a driving apparatus installed on the service unit or by a drive belt extending within spinning machine. The driving apparatus mounted on the service unit is connected to a control device for the control of the evolution of the rotational speed of the spinning rotor. The spinning rotor is driven according to a rotational speed course controlled by means of a program applied by the control device during the time when its rotational speed deviates from its operating speed.

  • Patent number: 6532396
Abstract: A process and apparatus are provided for controlling components of individual work stations of a textile machine wherein the textile machine includes a plurality of adjacent such work stations. The work station components are run at a first speed during normal operation. A time period is established at the start of a voltage loss to the components. At the conclusion of this time period, the components are shut down. The components assume a second set speed as they run down during the time period beginning at the start of the voltage loss. Upon the voltage loss, an auxiliary current source is activated and the speed of the components which are supplied with auxiliary voltage from the current source is reduced in a controlled manner with the aid of a control program.
