Patents Assigned to Ristvedt-Johnson, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4765464
Abstract: A wrapped roll of coins in which the wrapper comprises a flexible substrate. The wrapper has pressure sensitive adhesive on its inner surface which can be selectively cleanly released from the coins. And a process for applying and removing the wrapper.

  • Patent number: 4731043
Abstract: A coin sorter of the type wherein coins are sorted by the combination of a sorting head and rotated resilient disc in which the inner edge of the coins are radially referenced as they rotate, and coins of a discrete diameter of ejected at discrete circumferential points by a series of ramp-slot combinations in which the radially positioned ramp depresses a discrete diameter of coin into a slot. The slots are configured to direct coins caught in a slot outward.

  • Patent number: 4718218
Abstract: A coin wrapping mechanism for wrapping rolls of coins comprises a coin stacking system for forming a coin stack containing a predetermined number of coins; vertical and lateral supporting members for supporting the coin stack for rotation about its axis; a driven roll with a resilient surface for rotating the coin stack about its axis while pressing a wrapping material against the coin stack, the wrapping material having a coating of a pressure-sensitive, releasable adhesive on the side facing the coin stack so that the adhesive adheres to, and is wound around, the coin stack; and an ejector for removing the coin stack from the wrapping station after the desired length of wrapping material has been wound around the coins.

  • Patent number: 4564036
Abstract: The invention relates to a coin sorter apparatus for sorting a group of mixed coins by denomination and terminating the sorting process when a predetermined number of coins have been sorted. A stationary disk provides a means for guiding the outwardly radial movement of coins rotating on the surface of a rotating disk from a starting point at the center of the stationary disk to an exit at selected areas at the periphery of the stationary disk. The radial positions of the coins are controlled so as to cause the coins exiting at the selected areas to be sorted by coin denomination. Sensors located proximate to these selected areas count the number of coins exiting at each area.

  • Patent number: 4549561
Abstract: A coin sorter is provided comprising a rotatable disc with a resilient surface and a stationary disc having its first surface positioned proximate to the resilient surface of the rotatable disc. Coins placed between the two disc surfaces are pressed into the resilient surface by pressure from the stationary disc. Selected areas of the stationary disc are recessed so as to release coins from their pressed engagement with the resilient surface and thereby allow radial movement of the released coins in response to centrifugal force. The selected areas of the stationary disc which are recessed, guide the coins along a path which results in each denomination of coin escaping from between the two discs at different positions along the periphery of the stationary disc. Recesses and ridges are provided on the underside of the stationary disc which recirculate improperly aligned coins.

  • Patent number: 4444212
Abstract: A coin sorting machine in which coins are fed onto the center of a rotating disc having a flexible surface. An annular guide plate is positioned over the disc, being open in the center for receiving coins, and extending outward to the peripheral edge of the disc. The underside of the guide plate is formed with a peripheral stop extending around approximately half of the disc, and a series of discrete radial guides extend over portions of the other half of the disc. The first of the series of guides would have an outer edge differing in radius from the peripheral stop by the diameter of the smallest coin to be sorted, and each succeeding guide would have a progressively smaller radiused outside edge defined by the difference between coins to be sorted by succeeding guides.
