  • Patent number: 5660077
Abstract: A self-contained speed control device and system, primarily for electric and hybrid vehicles, includes a self-contained mechanical variable-speed control device. The device allows the motor to run constantly at its most efficient speed and temperature. The device is mechanically operated and connected to the motor and drive train. Speed is controlled by means of an accelerator cable connected to the device. When the accelerator is in the low or idle position, the torque is multiplied or increased instead of decreased, lessening the load on the motor, without additional load on the batteries. A continuous gear and slide arrangement creates a constantly variable speed combination, without interruption, giving the electric motor the feel of an internal combustion engine, without the disadvantage of building torque.

  • Patent number: 5460097
Abstract: An apparatus for preoiling an internal combustion engine prior to starting. This device requires no pump and is operated by vacuum and oil pressure from the engine. The apparatus is controlled by novel switching means and is recharged with hot engine oil that is drawn into a holding chamber and surrounded by an outer vacuum chamber to keep the oil warm as the vacuum serves as an insulator. This apparatus is also equipped with a dual voltage heater that can be used for warming the oil when the engine has set for long periods in cold weather. The unit is completely self contained an injects a blast of warm oil into the engine prior to starting. This reduces friction and wear to the engine. At the same time, this will reduce the load on the engine increasing efficiency at engine start-up and in turn reduce pollutants.

  • Patent number: 5241832
Abstract: A system for compressing gas that changes ambient atmosphere conditions which uses a hermetic compressor, a condenser to receive compressed gas from the compressor and condense it, a liquid receiver to store the condensed gas, an expansion valve to vaporize the condensed gas and an evaporator which interacts with the ambient atmosphere. Isolating devices are used to isolate the compressor from the other parts of the system. A power invertor which changes the direct current to alternating current used with the isolating devices enable the use of a hermetic compressor in a direct current environment. Also included are cooling devices that use the cool internal vapor and the cool water formed on the outside of the evaporator to cool the compressor and its components.

  • Patent number: 5082049
Abstract: A heat generating apparatus and system for an automobile and incorporating the use of an absorption air conditioning system including temperature control means is disclosed. Heat transfer from the catalytic converter by means of a circulating heating fluid to a heating coil attached to the heat generator on the absorption system is provided as well as electrical connectons and controls for utilizing the heat energy from the catalytic converter. The use of a compressor and horsepower drain on the engine is eliminated.
