Abstract: An automatic analyzer, comprising disposable parts such as large quantities of nozzle tips and reaction containers for use in sample analysis inspection, wherein the part rack (12) holding unused parts is raised from a lowest position to a rack separation station (A) by a lift for supply (14) and separated so that only the uppermost stacked part rack can remain on the rack separation station, the separated part rack is moved to a part take-out station (B) where parts on the part rack are taken out one by one from a movable holding part (59), and, by opening the floor part of the part take-out station (B) after part consumption, the used part rack is allowed to fall down and recovered on the lift (84) of a recovery lifter (15), whereby the supply of an unused part rack on which unused parts are loaded and the recovery of a used part rack can be performed with a compact system configuration.

Abstract: A multiple analyte assaying device includes a casing having a pocket portion adapted to capture or contain a predetermined volume of fluid specimen to be assayed. Disposed within the casing is a sample receiving pad and one or more reagent test strips. The pocket portion of the casing includes a feed element having multiple feed inlets, or alternatively, a single feed slot. The feed element provides pressure against the sample receiving pad. The pressure against the pad and a small size of the inlet or inlets are effective in controlling a rate of fluid release of the specimen to the sample receiving pad. The casing includes observation windows or alternatively a clear plastic view area for enabling observation of reagent zones of the test strips. The device is structured and adapted to enable a technician to capture the appropriate volume of fluid specimen in the pocket portion by submerging or dipping a portion of the device into a fluid-filled collection container for a brief period of time.

Abstract: Novel analogs of phencyclidine (PCP) are disclosed. The analogs are capable of reacting with anti-PCT antibodies and are useful in immunoassays.The following analogs are described: ##STR1## wherein wherein X is --OH or a reporter molecule selected from the group consisting of aminofluorescein and aminomethylfluorescein and n is an integer between 1 and 10, inclusive.
