Abstract: A device, system and a method for marking objects present in an image and retrieving details of objects marked in the image is disclosed. The image is scanned to identify an object. The object comprises animate and inanimate things. Details of the object are retrieved by matching an identity of the object with pre-stored data tables. Metadata information of the image is updated to include the details of the object. Hotspot information of the object is embedded into the image, to include the details of the object. The image comprising the object is displayed. At least one section of the image is highlighted to indicate a user about presence of a hotspot in the section. Details of the object are presented to a user, based on a user input indicative of a selection of the input.

Abstract: A method and system for designing and affixing symbology, e.g., an identifier, into digital and printed images and using that symbology to link these images to a global computer network to allow the organization and processing of these images both while in digital form, and later when in printed form are provided. The method includes the steps of capturing an image with a digital image capture device and creating a digital image file; associating at least one identifier to the digital image file; and encoding the at least one identifier of the digital image file. The identifier includes a site location number (SLN), a customer identification number (CIN), a date the image was taken (DIT) and a picture sequence number (PSN). The identifier will be printed with the image and be used to retrieve the image at a later date and process user requests.

Abstract: A media enhancement system and method, the system including a media player structured to deliver a media selection to a user and an enhancement registry associated with the media selection and including time data and/or other data associated with the media selection and a communicative link to additional materials. A user interface is further provided and operatively associated with the media player to receive a user input during delivery of the media selection by the media player, the media player further structured to identify a corresponding time marker of the media selection at a time that corresponds receipt of the user input. Finally, an activation assembly is provided to access the enhancement registry and to correspondingly activate the communicative link for delivery of the additional materials to the user.

Abstract: A system and method for linking terrestrial mail to the global computer network, e.g., the Internet, are provided. The system and method of the present disclosure will enable a user, e.g., a sender and/or recipient of a document, to link all types of terrestrial mail to the global computer network, e.g., the Internet, so that they can digitally access, reply and/or utilize the content of the mail. The system and method provides for receiving an identifier associated with a terrestrial document; accessing an electronic version of the terrestrial document using the received identifier; creating a reply to the accessed document; and forwarding the reply to a sender of the terrestrial document. The reply document can be forwarded by e-mailing the reply to the sender, faxing the reply to the sender and/or printing the reply and delivering the printed reply by a terrestrial delivery service.

Abstract: A method and system for soliciting charitable contributions using digital content files over a global computer network, e.g., the Internet, via community web sites are provided. The method and system allow a user, e.g., a solicitor or soliciting member, to post digital data on a community web site soliciting charitable contributions from other members of the community. If the users on the web site wish to contribute to the soliciting user, they can do so with an e-commerce transaction. The soliciting member will then receive part of the monies contributed by the user(s) with the rest of the monies contributed distributed to the community hosting web site, and to the members/users who made the contribution(s) as an incentive for the contributions.

Abstract: A device, system and method for positively establishing an identity of an individual is provided. The device, system and method of the present disclosure provides for coupling an electronic information carrier to a reader device; receiving in the reader device at least one biometric identifier from the electronic information carrier; taking a biometric measurement of the individual; and comparing the at least one biometric identifier to the biometric measurement, wherein if the biometric measurement matches the biometric identifier, positively establishing the identity of the individual. Once the individual's identity is established, data such as a medical record may be access from the electronic information carrier. Furthermore, the record may be updated and written to the electronic information carrier. The biometric identifier may be a photo, a fingerprint, a hand geometry print, an iris scan, a retinal scan or a DNA fingerprint.

Abstract: A media validation and registration system includes media storage devices which contain a quantity of content thereon, a user computer processor assembly structured to access a select media storage device, a verification module, and a communicative link between the verification module and the user computer processor assembly. Each media storage device includes a unique unit identifier, the verification module identifying the unique unit identifier of the select media storage device and receiving user information associated therewith. The verification module is also structured to apply supplemental content in association with a first user whose user information is associated with the unique unit identifier for the select media storage device, and to allow the user to register the media storage device through a computer network, e.g., the Internet, and also to verify the status of the registration by going to a website of the publisher or distributor of the media storage device.

Abstract: A system and method for creating a personalized consumer product are provided. The system and method of the present disclosure enables a user, e.g., a consumer, to customize products containing solids and/or fluids by allowing a server communicating over the global computer network, e.g., the Internet, to provide product preferences of a user to a product or a mixing device, e.g., a product or beverage dispenser. The method for creating a product according to a user's preferences over a network includes the steps identifying a product to a server over the network; identifying a user to the server over the network; retrieving the user's product preferences from a database at the server based on the product's identity and user's identity; transmitting the user's product preferences to the product over the network; and mixing at least one element contained within the product based on the user's product preferences.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for identifying an article of commerce, e.g., digital media content, and downloading all or part of content related to the article of commerce to mobile devices such as portable digital media players and/or mobile phone devices. The present disclosure will enable a user to find an existing digital entertainment product of interest such as but not limited to a music CD, music DVD, electronic game, text (such as a book,) or a movie/television DVD, to identify that product and then to transfer full or selected content, or associated content, to a mobile device, e.g., a portable digital media player and/or a mobile phone device. The system and method of the present disclosure will provide on the spot delivery of the exact content identified by the user, or a portion thereof, on the user's portable digital device(s).
