Abstract: The present invention is a roof drain assembly that comprises a dome mounted to a drain body by shock arrestors and a roof clamp that is securable to the drain body. A screen is positioned around the inlet and between the drain body and the dome. The shock arrestors and screen permit the dome to compress against the drain body while simultaneously absorbing the energy from an impact. As the shock arrestors compress, the screen also compresses. The resiliency of the screen and the shock arrestors permit the dome assembly to return to its passive state once the compression force is removed.
