Abstract: A shock resistant gasketing system (10) for a liquid container (11) has a resilent gasket (14), a base (12) which has an enclosed area (20) therein, and a cover (13). A rim (25) defines an opening (26) into the enclosed area (20). The rim (25) has a retaining wall groove (30) and a gasket seat (27) contiguous with the opening into the enclosed area (20) and continguous with the retaining wall groove (30). The cover (13) is affixable to the base (12) and closes the opening (26) when the cover (13) is affixed to the base (12). Latches (40) can secure the cover (13) to the base (12). The cover (13) has a retaining wall (50) structurally corresponding to the retaining wall groove (30) of the base (12), such that the retaining wall (50) fits within the retaining wall groove (30) when the cover (13) is affixed to the base (12). The gasket (14) is positioned on the gasket seat (27) and is impinged between the base (12) and the cover (13) when the cover (13) is affixed to the base (12).
Abstract: A refuse container and dolly assembly in which the refuse container and dolly includes a square or rectangular transverse sectional configuration. An alignment flange is provided in the top surface of the dolly, adapted to engage a registration flange in the underside of the container, whereby, upon rotary connection between the dolly and an underside of the waste container, the side walls of the dolly and the waste container are brought into co-planar alignment.

Abstract: A container (10) includes a base portion (11) having a cover (12) attached thereto by a hinge assembly (13). Plates (25, 26) extend outwardly from the base portion (11) and together with arms (27, 28) extending outwardly from the cover (12) carry a latch mechanism (34) to maintain the cover (12) in an open position. The latch mechanism (34) includes complementary lock barbs (35, 38) on a plate (26) and an arm (28), each lock barb (35, 38) having a camming surface (36, 39) and a lock surface (37, 40). As the cover (12) is rotated, the camming surface (39) of the lock barb (38) rides over the camming surface (36) of the lock barb (35) until the lock surfaces (37, 40) engage each other.

Abstract: A mop wringer (10), which is adapted to be positioned on the rim of a pail or the like, includes a body member (11) having a front wall (14). A pressure plate (30) is pivotally connected to the body member (11). The inner surface of the front wall (14) has passageways (15A) therein and the outer surface of front wall (14) is formed with a downturned lip (59) to define additional passageways (15B) below the passageways (15A). A rotatable arm (41) carries a linkage mechanism (49) which is connected to the pressure plate (30). Rotation of the arm (41) pivots the plate (30) to evacuate water out of a mop positioned between the plate (30) and the front wall (14). The water passes through the passageways (15A) and is downwardly directed in the pail through the passageways (15B) by contact with the downturned lip (59).
