Abstract: The present invention relates to control of a power supply for a lamps circuit. More particularly, the invention provides a power-saving voltage controller intended for fluorescent and incandescent lamps and is particularly useful for controlling high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps. The invention comprising a multi-mode switch-based AC voltage regulator with feedback, the voltage regulator providing full power for lamp start up and reduced voltage for normal operation and a programmed electronic controller operatively connected to all control switches and measurement devices.
