  • Patent number: 10906277
Abstract: A problem addressed by the present invention is to provide a low-friction member which does not easily lose low-friction properties thereof even when used for a relatively long period. The low-friction member LS according to the present invention is consisting of at least lubricating materials PL, PS and a polyimide resin MR. The low-friction member has a surface roughness Rsk or 0.500 or more and the surface exposure ratio of the lubricating materials of 15.0% or more. It is particularly preferred that the surface roughness Rsk be in a range of 0.0900 (inclusive) to 0.1400 (inclusive), and the surface exposure ratio of the lubricating materials be 35.0% or more. It is preferred that the lubricating materials be a fluororesin. The low-friction member thus has the property of not losing the low-friction properties thereof easily even when used for a relatively long period.

  • Patent number: 10903588
Abstract: Each IDCC header pin is comprised of an upper section, a pin barb section, and a lower section. Each IDCC header pin has at least a first pin barb on its pin barb section, to allow it to be anchored and retained into a housing. The upper section of each IDCC header pin also has a blade to contact a wire and displace the insulation thereof. The lower section of the pins has an associated compliant retention feature which allows the IDCC header pin to be retained into respective holes in a PCB. A dual contact bent IDCC header pin can include two upper sections which each have a blade and create a dual contact with a wire, and another embodiment can have a two-thickness upper section.

  • Patent number: 10892579
Abstract: A female terminal position assurance (TPA) device provides essential secondary locks resulting in much higher retention forces in assuring that the terminals remain locked inside a female housing. The female TPA device also provides the needed detection if the terminals are not fully inserted or installed inside the female housing so that if such a detection is made, the secondary locks provided by the female TPA device do not occur. That is, once it is detected that the terminals have been fully inserted into the female housing and that the primary locks for the terminals inside the female housing have occurred, the female TPA device is able to be inserted into the female housing and thereby provide the secondary locks for the terminals for a much higher assurance that the terminals remain locked inside the female housing. The female TPA device further includes multiple locks with the female housing, while the female TPA device is in a pre-lock position or a full-lock position inside the female housing.

  • Patent number: 10784620
Abstract: Method of operating a connector latch used to securely hold together a connector apparatus, wherein the connector apparatus has at least a first housing and a second housing which can be mated together. Initially, after the connector latch is manufactured, the connector latch is in an undeflected position. After manufacture, the connector latch is subjected to a pre-mating deflection process, in order to deflect the connector latch into a preloaded position. After the pre-mating deflection process has been completed, the connector latch is locked in the preloaded position. The preloaded connector latch provides a number of desirable characteristics, including at least an extra loud “click” sound when the connecting latch is operated to mate the first housing with the second housing.

  • Patent number: 10770824
Abstract: A system and method are described for improved connector position assurance. A latch stop mechanism (10) on a first connector may be used to selectively limit movement of a latch (50) and attached latch lock (54) after the latch lock (54) has been engaged to secure the first connector to a second connector. The latch stop mechanism (10) may be attached to the connector housing (80) and have a series of hinges (12), (16) that allow a latch stop mechanism (10) to pivot into place, limiting movement of the latch (50) and latch lock (54). A terminal position assurance (TPA) (30) may be located on the bottom of the connector main body and when engaged, ensures proper positioning of the engaged wire terminal.

  • Publication number: 20200274281
Abstract: A method for improving clearance and creepage in a high voltage connector assembly using a female terminal position assurance (TPA) device. The female housing in this invention is highly suitable for high voltage electrical terminals, which are larger terminals. The female TPA device in this invention includes two frontward extending members, while the female housing includes a front portion for terminals to reside. With the above-described characteristics of this invention, the creepage and the clearance of an electrical path between one terminal to another terminal are advantageously increased. The electrical path one of the a electric high voltage electrical terminal to another high voltage electrical terminal extending along the front portion of the female housing and between the front downward extending members of the frontward extending members of the female TPA device.

  • Publication number: 20200274282
Abstract: A male terminal position assurance (TPA) device for a male connector assembly, preferably for a high voltage connector assembly. The male TPA has a substantially wing-like shaped upper member that respectively locks terminals inside a male inner housing, and further has a flexible arm member, in a lower member thereof, that locks the male TPA device in the male inner housing. The male TPA device does not lock inside the male inner housing if it detects that the corresponding terminal has not been fully inserted or installed into the male inner housing. The male inner housing includes a primarily lock for locking the terminal, while the male TPA device, when in full-lock position, provides for a secondary lock for locking the terminal inside the inner housing. When in the full-lock position inside the male inner housing, the male TPA device assures that the necessary retention forces are provided to ensure that the terminal remains fully locked within the male connector assembly.
