Abstract: Disclosed are a modular food product display stand and a related method for constructing such display stand. Such display stand may comprise a plastic tray having four top corners, four bottom corners, top receiving slots located at each top corner, and bottom receiving slots located at each bottom corner. The display stand may further comprise four insertable plastic feet installed in the bottom receiving slots, and four insertable plastic posts installed in the top receiving posts. The outer dimensions of a cross-section of the plastic feet may match the inner dimensions of a cross-section of the bottom receiving slots, and the outer dimensions of a cross-section of the plastic posts may match the inner dimensions of a cross-section of the top receiving slots. The display stand may also comprise a plastic topper with receiving slots at each corner of the bottom of the topper for receiving the plastic posts.
Abstract: A gravity feed product display rack. In one embodiment the display rack has a support frame and at least one shelf. The at least one shelf has a floor, a front side, and at least one edge side, all integrally made. The shelf further has a hinge coupled to at least one edge side of the shelf via an affixing device. The hinge has a first stable position corresponding to a loading position and a second stable position corresponding to a displaying position. The shelf can be adjusted between the loading and displaying positions by adjusting the shelf relative to the affixing member.
Abstract: A process for the production of fresh masa, nixtamalized flour and derived products. The invention is a new process for production of corn masa (dough) to be used in the production of tortillas, fried or baked tortilla chips, tostadas, or corn chips. The new process produces masa directly from raw materials without the traditional cooking and steeping steps. It utilizes a series of processing steps including dry blending, hydrating, and working dough in an extruder having a unique screw configuration. The new process uses very little water and emits no waste water.
Abstract: A method for making a snack product having a target shape from expandable pellets is disclosed. The snack product is formed into a target shape by expanding the pellets inside a mold. As the pellets expand inside the mold, the mold walls restrain the pellets expansion in the direction normal to the mold wall surface. The pellets also adhere to one another as they expand. An edible binder material can be included to facilitate such adherence.

Abstract: A modular display rack and, more specifically, a display rack having a plurality of cylindrical bins oriented horizontally and stacked vertically. The cylindrical bins consist of a transparent half-pipe bottom with vertical dividers attached to two circular end caps. The circular end caps provide a hinge for a rotatable door and snap-to-fit features that allow the stacking of the bins vertically.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a container having a cavity for dispensing a paste and a cavity for another material. In one aspect, a first cavity for a comestible paste resides in an area between a hollow piston and a top section having a dispenser. The top section and piston optionally have corresponding male and female threads in their respective cylindrical sections. The paste can be dispensed by slidably advancing the piston towards the dispenser. In an optional embodiment, the threads can then be engaged to rotatably advance the piston towards the dispenser to dispense additional paste. A comestible seasoning or other material can be disposed in the hollow piston.
