Abstract: A first server launches, under control of a device user, an execution of a first virtual payload by using a predetermined service provider interface or a first predetermined application programming interface that is associated with the first virtual payload executed by the first server. The first virtual payload generates a first random nonce. The first virtual payload launches an execution of a second virtual payload by using an associated second predetermined application programming interface. The second virtual payload is executed by the first or a second server. The first virtual payload exchanges with the second virtual payload the first random nonce, so as to establish a first secure channel. The invention also relates to corresponding first server and system.

  • Publication number: 20200177563
Abstract: A first server exchanges with a second server a master (symmetric) key(s). The first server sends to the first application the master key(s). The second server generates dynamically a first derived key by using a generation parameter(s) and a first master key. The second server sends to the second application the first derived key and the generation parameter(s). The second application generates and sends to the first application a first (key possession) proof and the generation parameter(s). The first application verifies successfully by using the generation parameter(s), the first master key and the first proof, that the first proof has been generated by using the first derived key, generates and sends to the second application a second (key possession) proof. The second application verifies successfully that the second proof has been generated by using the first derived key, as a dynamically generated and proven shared key.

  • Publication number: 20190356487
Abstract: A method for securing a system including a configuration subsystem and a production subsystem. The configuration subsystem is separate from the production subsystem that comprises a plurality of components, a gatekeeper and an entity secured with a first secret value. A generator hosted in the configuration subsystem selects a secret sharing scheme and generates, from an input parameter different from the first secret value, a set of secret shares using the secret sharing scheme. The generator uniquely assigns and securely sends a secret share extracted from the set to each of the components. The gatekeeper gets a subset of the secret shares from the components and constructs a second secret value from the subset using the secret sharing scheme. The gatekeeper computes the first secret value by applying a preset function to the second secret value, and then the gatekeeper unlocks access to the entity using the first secret value.

  • Patent number: 7035918
Abstract: A system for managing licenses for protected software on a communication network is disclosed. The system comprises at least one client computer and a pool of license servers coupled to the communication network. The client computers request authorizations to use the protected software. The pool of license servers are programmed for managing a distribution of allocations to use the protected software. Within the pool of license servers is a current leader server programmed for managing the distribution of allocations for the license servers in the pool, and at least one follower server programmed for managing the distribution of allocations for that particular follower server. Each license server stores a status of the allocations for that particular license server, and each follower server communicates the status of the allocations for that particular follower server to the current leader server.

  • Patent number: 6973565
Abstract: A biometrically secured memory IC is disclosed for biometrically securing digital data stored therein. The memory IC comprises a biometric sensing device such as a fingerprint imager and an integrated circuit. The biometric sensing device and the integrated circuit are irremovably bonded together such that the sensing device and the integrated circuit form a single physical unit. Biometric information provided to the sensing device is captured and a signal indicative of the biometric information is provided to the integrated circuit. The signal is then converted into digital data indicative of the signal using an A/D converter. A processor compares the digital data indicative of the biometric information with first digital data indicative of a biometric characteristic of an authorized user, which is stored in first memory to produce a comparison result. If the comparison result is indicative of a match the processor provides access to second digital data stored in second memory.
