  • Patent number: 11977665
Abstract: An apparatus comprising communication logic and a memory. The communication logic may be configured to receive a data payload, validate the data payload, decode an instruction from the data payload, generate a bypass signal in response to the instruction and generate a remote signal in response to an arm signal. The memory may be configured to store configuration data and store status information. The bypass signal may be compatible with a safing block configured to provide one independent signal for an actuator. The communication logic may operate according to a pre-defined end-to-end communication standard. The configuration data may be configured to enable a selected profile for the pre-defined end-to-end communication standard. The safing block may be configured to pass through the bypass signal generated by the communication logic as the arm signal. The communication logic may receive the arm signal from the safing block.

  • Patent number: 11964660
Abstract: An apparatus comprising an arm control path, a deploy control path and a communication module. The arm control path may be configured to trigger an arm signal. The deploy control path may be configured to trigger a deploy signal. The communication module may be configured to communicate a remote signal to/from an end device, generate a bypass signal in response to the remote signal and generate the remote signal in response to detecting the arm signal. An activation signal for an actuator may be generated in response to the arm signal and the deploy signal. The arm signal and the deploy signal may be generated independently. The communication module may enable the remote signal to activate the end device. The bypass signal may be compatible with the arm control path and ensure an independent and parallel path for the arm control path to generate the arm signal.

  • Publication number: 20240117580
Abstract: Guardrail, guardrail terminal, and support post designs that improve control of a vehicle during collisions are described. The disclosed designs also reduce the likelihood of intrusion into vehicle systems and the occupant compartment(s). Embodiments include folding and/or flattening of the guardrail and controlling the folded and flattened guardrail to avoid intrusion into the vehicle. Other embodiments include containing the guardrail in an impact head of a guardrail terminal, which also avoids vehicle intrusion.

  • Publication number: 20230415025
Abstract: Rate of deceleration is an important factor in determining the severity of injuries, such as head and neck injuries, possibly sustained when participants collide with a wall assembly while playing, for example, ice hockey. The described wall assemblies each include a support assembly and a movable wall assembly supported by and movable with respect to the support assembly. Telescoping parts of the movable wall assembly enable deflection of the movable wall assembly to complex angles with respect to the support assembly. In addition, movable wall assemblies can be coupled such that impact on one wall assembly can cause deflection of an adjacent wall assembly. Covers, shields, and spacers can be positioned to decrease gap formation during deflection of the movable wall assembly to reduce the risk of pinch points.
