Patent number: 6822532Abstract: A suspended stripline device and method for manufacturing thereof. The device includes first and second conductive traces disposed on a dielectric substrate, each of the first and second conductive traces having a first edge and a second edge, and a housing at least partially surrounding the dielectric substrate, wherein the second edge of each of the first and second conductive traces includes at least one outwardly extending protrusion, the size and orientation of which may be selected so as to compensate for unequal even and odd mode propagation velocities through the suspended-stripline device. The device may be packaged by folding solder-coated tabs, provided on the housing, around the dielectric substrate and heating the device such that the solder melts causing the housing to be secured to the substrate.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2002Date of Patent: November 23, 2004Assignee: Sage Laboratories, Inc.Inventors: John R. Kane, Richard J. Garabedian

Patent number: 5148132Abstract: An insulating sleeve for a microwave coupler having two proximately positioned inner conductors, an outer conductor and the sleeve disposed between the conductors and in contact with them. The material from which the sleeve is constructed is electrically insulating and includes a coefficient of linear thermal expansion that is no more than 1.5 times that of the outer conductor in an operating temperature range. The outer conductor may be a copper-based alloy or aluminum and the insulating sleeve material may be, among others, Fluorosint.RTM. 500 or Flurolly H.RTM..Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1991Date of Patent: September 15, 1992Assignee: Sage Laboratories, Inc.Inventor: Harry F. Chapell

Patent number: 4779066Abstract: In a multi-position microwave switch, a terminating impedance is associated with the center conductor of each port of the switch. When a port is selected, the resistor is pushed into the conductor by the blade completing the RF path to the selected position. When the position is not selected, the resistor is pushed out of the conductor until it contacts a grounded portion of the switch. An alternate embodiment of the invention employs a flexible terminating impedance secured to the blade.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1987Date of Patent: October 18, 1988Assignee: Sage Laboratories, Inc.Inventor: Harry F. Patent number: 4755778Abstract: An electromagnetic signaling apparatus, particularly in which components thereof have relative adjustment therebetween. A combination lead screw and associated support nut moves one of the components, such as may appear in a phase shifter. The lead screw has thread reliefs to provide disengagement at predetermined limits of rotation so as to prevent jamming and thread stripping. Spring means are employed for re-engagement.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 1987Date of Patent: July 5, 1988Assignee: Sage Laboratories, Inc.Inventor: Harry F. Chapell

Patent number: 4641111Abstract: A microwave coupled line device constructed to equalize even and odd mode delay and comprising an outer conductor and first and second inner conductors at least one of which has insulation bonded thereto and separated by the thickness of said insulation therebetween. There is also provided an insulating sleeve disposed in the outer conductor and adapted to accommodate the first and second inner conductors. Means are provided for filling the void between the insulating sleeve and the outer conductor with an insulating material preferably having a dielectric constant in the range of 2.6-3.5.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1985Date of Patent: February 3, 1987Assignee: Sage Laboratories, Inc.Inventor: Harry F. Patent number: 4033009Abstract: A pair of similarly-shaped handles support a dish or other food holder. The handles are of sufficient height to elevate the dish above a shelf of a microwave oven upon which the base of the handles rests. The handles permit easy carrying of the dish and each handle is double-ended with two accommodating slots preferably of slightly different dimension so that the handle can be selectively fitted with the dish.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1976Date of Patent: July 5, 1977Assignee: Sage Laboratories, Inc.Inventor: Lynne E. Hoinash

Patent number: 3949327Abstract: The filter may be designed from a multiple section L-C Chebyshev low pass filter prototype and is of generally ridged filter construction. The distributed shunt capacitors in the ridged section are designed to support only one mode in both the passband and primary stop band. The series inductors are calculated in accordance with evanescent mode (below cut-off) operation.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 1974Date of Patent: April 6, 1976Assignee: Sage Laboratories, Inc.Inventor: Harry F.
