Abstract: A manhole assembly (10; 10?) comprises a frame (11; 11?) and at least a pair of cover plates (12, 13; 12?, 13? that are receivable in and disengageable from the frame to permit selective closing and opening of an aperture the periphery of which is defined by the frame, the cover plates (12, 13; 12?, 13? substantially occupying the aperture when received in the frame; a first cover plate (12; 12? of a said pair being smaller than a second cover plate (13; 13?) of the pair; the first cover plate being hingeable relative to the second cover plate, while the latter is received in the frame (11?, 11), from a closed position received in the frame to an open position in which a first part of the aperture is open; and the second cover plate being removable from the frame, when the first cover plate is disengaged from the frame, to open a second part of the aperture.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for closing an opening, particularly a man hole. The inventive device comprises a frame (4) and a cover (6) which is articulated to the frame (4) around a first axis (X-X) by means of a hinge (14). The device also comprises a locking means (16) having a locked configuration, whereby the cover is held open in a first position, and an unlocked configuration, whereby said cover (6) is disposed in a second position in which it can be pivoted around the axis (X-X). The aforementioned hinge (14) is designed such that, while resting on the frame, the cover (6) can pivot around a second horizontal axis (Y-Y). Moreover, the cover is pivoted around said second axis (Y-Y) in order to move same between the two positions. The invention is suitable for cast iron man holes.

Each locking insert (20) includes a radially external head (30) provided with a first front projection (50, 52) applicable against the annular front surface (90) of the anchoring groove (82). The head (30) comprises includes a second frontal projection (52, 50) radially shifted from the first front projection (50, 52).

Abstract: A covering (10), for an access aperture, comprises a pair (11, 12) of cover plates, of unequal sizes, that are positionable one adjacent the other along a line of juxtaposition (14) to define a generally rectangular covering. The line of juxtaposition (14) extends from one side (24) of the generally rectangular covering to another (26) and is spaced from the diagonal (27) of the rectangular covering that it is proximate.

Abstract: This locking ring is adapted to lock a joint between two tubular elements (4, 8). It extends around a central axis (X-X) and comprises segments (50) each having a main part (58) and two circumferential ends (60). Each segment (50) has a shape flaring out from a thin axial side towards a wide axial side. One of the segments (50) comprises a recess (62) for receiving a retaining member (16), which is axially open on the thin side. The receiving recess (62) extends solely through the main part, and it is circumferentially limited on both sides.

Abstract: This variable-angle tubular connection includes a first tubular section (4) which has a flange ring (10), a second tubular section (6) which has an end flange (12) and a clamping device (8) for clamping the flange ring (10) against the end flange (12). The clamping device (8) has at least one linking segment (22), suitable for being applied against the flange ring (10), and components (24) for clamping the linking segment (22) against the flange ring. The end flange (12) has traversing recesses (20) through which the clamping components extend. The end flange is fixed to the second tubular section (6). Application to the sealed junction of tubing elements.

Abstract: This tubular joint includes a bell end (4) which is equipped with an internal groove (18) and in which is inserted a spigot end (6), a seal (8) and a locking element (12). The groove forms a groove wall (20). The spigot end (6) and the bell end (4) define a radial clearance (J). The locking element (12) includes a fixing tooth (36) and a contact face (28) for application against the wall (20) when the clearance (J) is within a first range of clearances. When the clearance is within a second range of clearances, the locking element (12) forms a rocking point (34) for rocking round the groove wall (20) and the fixing tooth (36) bites into the external surface (22) by a flying buttress effect of the locking element (12).

Abstract: This frame (2) comprises a bottom plate (22) which has a base (26) which defines a frame support surface (28) which is directed towards an inner side (I) and a skirt (20) which is intended to receive a covering element (4) and which defines an outer side (E). The bottom plate (22) comprises at least one cell (32) which is open towards the inner side (I). Use in frames for manholes.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a cast article including a frame that in use of the article defines an aperture; and a further component that is in use retained moveably captive relative to the frame. The method casts the further component and respective first and second frame members, the further component and the frame members being securable together to form the article, and subsequently assembles the frame members and the further component together to form the article. A gully grate results from practicing the method.

The road manhole (2) comprises an auxiliary gasket (20) which is in contact, at least in the closed state, with the concave corner (16).

Abstract: To endow such a device, of the type with a bolt (1) actuated by a key (2), with a high level of tamper-proofing and security without compromising its simplicity and reliability, the device includes two bolt-guiding members (3, 4) carried by one of the two elements, and the bolt includes a key-inserting aperture (114), two guiding ramps (112, 113) cooperating with the guiding members, and a third guiding ramp (115) cooperating with the key (2) when the latter is inserted into the aperture (114), in order to selectively actuate the bolt (1) from a locking position to an unlocking position, and vice versa, by rotation of the key. Abstract: A rigid anti-theft cover (3), for covering of shafts leading to underground mains-water systems, hingedly mounted on a frame (1) with two side edges (32A, 32B) bearing two projecting parts (30A, 30B) and engaging into two cells (10) of the frame which are at least partially overhung by a wall (13) of this frame to provide an axis of articulation parallel to a hinging border (31) of the cover. The cover also has an elastic finger (36) extending parallel to the side edges (32A, 32B) with a free end situated in proximity to the hinging border (31) and co-operating with a pressure lug (14) borne by the corresponding hinging edge (11) of the frame to permit, by elastic deformation of the finger (36) supported against the lug (14), positioning of the projecting parts (30A, 30B) into their respective cells (10) and their removal.
