Patents Assigned to Satyam Computer Services Limited of Mayfair Centre
  • Patent number: 8538958
Abstract: Personalized services and targeted services demand the exploitation of context—say, context of an environment, context of a product, context of a service, and context of a customer or user or individual. In order for the personalized and targeted services to have a greater impact, the identified context used by a context aware processing engine needs to be accurate and current. Such an up-to-date context is called as context map and a system and method for generating a customer-specific context map involves the processing of customer transactions, abstracting and generalizing these transactions into entities, and inter-relating these entities. The context map, for example, is useful in ad targeting in mobile environments, and in quicker and efficient problem resolution in contact center environments.

  • Patent number: 8347108
Abstract: The proposed system defines an automated safe reprogramming of software radios. The essence of software radios is to enhance or alter the functionality of a mobile terminal by using software. This means that the required software is downloaded onto a mobile terminal on the fly to meet the critical and necessary needs of the user. Lot of caution needs to be exercised while downloading the necessary software components on the fly. The proposed invention automates the validation and verification of the downloaded component by suggesting (a) a variety of signatures; (b) a means for defining multiple zones and verification of zone-specific signatures; (c) a means for computing the signatures of the downloaded component in the multiple zones; and (d) a means for verification of the downloaded component based on the signatures. The objective is to define the safeness of the downloaded component based on multiple signatures to be validated in different zones.

  • Patent number: 8156546
Abstract: Enterprise users access several applications and services routinely to carry out their work-related activities on a day-to-day basis. These applications and services could be hosted within an enterprise or on a third-party data center. The enterprise users login into the applications and services so as to gain access to the applications and services. In the case of single sign-on, it is expected that the users authenticate once to a specific application/service/system and obtain access to any other application/service/system. In such a scenario, it is important to ensure that during the course of this authenticated access grant, the right users are provided access to right information. This is achieved by a re-authentication system that demands minimum re-authentication effort from “right” users and maximum re-authentication effort from “non-right” users. A system and method of on the fly re-authentication involves a novel challenge-response mechanism.

  • Patent number: 8140550
Abstract: Multimedia content usage is on the rise and hence, it is becoming increasingly necessary to automatically analyze the multimedia content in order enhance the effective applicability and usage of the content. The richness of a multimedia content demands multi-fold analysis of the content and further, this richness also leads to openness and vastness. Hence, the outcome of the multiple analyses techniques needs to be carefully analyzed in order to avoid limited or inconsistent content description. A system and method for bounded analysis of multimedia using multiple correlations addresses the issues related to richness and vastness of a multimedia content to enable describing of the multimedia content in a maximally consistent manner. Such a content description is very useful in the semantic characterization of multimedia.

  • Publication number: 20100057699
Abstract: Annotations for a multimedia repository facilitate an efficient indexing, searching, and retrieval of the content from the multimedia repository. These annotations are an effective description of the content and it is very useful to have systems that automatically analyze the content to generate the annotations. A multimedia content, comprising video, audio, and textual data, is organized at shot level, scene level, segment level, multi-segment level, and full-length level. The multimedia content annotation is a providing of computer processable description of the multimedia content. Due to the multilevel organization of a multimedia content, it is required to provide annotations at various levels as well. A system and method for annotation aggregation uses the annotation at a lower level to arrive at an annotation at the next higher level. Such multilevel annotations are very useful in applications such as targeted content delivery.

  • Patent number: 7574406
Abstract: Key to overall video license utilization lies in a cooperative sharing of licenses between the different branch operators of the licenses before the expiry of the licenses. A branch operator has a region of operation and stimulating the demand for licenses that are about to expire across multiple regions increases the overall license utilization. Billboard service provides subscribers with information and facility to preview and select movies for viewing online and it provides an opportunity for branch operators and central operator to maximize the utilization of available licenses. Central billboard provides a platform for branch operators to submit and trade their surplus licenses while a local billboard that is part of a branch operator infrastructure helps create demand for such surplus licenses. Central billboard supports both regulated and unregulated pricing and trading thereby enhancing the chances of trading of licenses that are about to expire.

  • Publication number: 20090067719
Abstract: Text segmentation based on topic boundary detection has been an industry problem in automating information dissemination to targeted users. A system for automatic segmentation of ASR output text involves boundary identification based on “topic” changes. The proposed approach is based on building a weighted graph to determine dependency in input sentences based on bi-directional analysis of the input sentences. Furthermore, the input sentences are segmented based on the notion of segment cohesiveness and the segmented sentences are merged based on preamble and postamble analyses.

  • Patent number: 7496655
Abstract: The proposed system defines a predictive real-time Service Level Agreements (SLAs) monitoring system by (a) a detailed analysis of traffic flows with reduced monitor-data flow across network; and (b) a suitable combination of offline and real-time processing of historical and current traffic data. In order to be able to undertake a detailed analysis without significantly impacting the network throughput, the system analyzes the historical traffic patterns of a typical Provider's network to determine a set of critical SLAs. An in-depth analysis of traffic is performed by creating a unique network parent probe for every critical SLA and the parent probe spawns an optimal number of intelligent master and slave probes based on a regionalization procedure. The online overload monitoring system analyzes the gathered data from the master and slave probes to (a) forecast future violations of the SLA under consideration based on multiple forecast models and (b) generate operator SLA violation alarms.

  • Patent number: 7415527
Abstract: The main challenge in providing video on demand service is to meet the quality of service requirements under the conditions when both server and network are loaded. Disclosed is a system and method for meeting this challenge by using a streaming overlay network with edge and core nodes, by the determination of best possible path for bulk copying of a video data based on location information of the nodes thereby distributing load across the network, by the simultaneous frame streaming and bulk copying of a video data, by the caching of a video data in the overlay network, and by the streaming of the video data to a client from an edge node that is close to the client.

  • Patent number: 6751614
Abstract: An information filtering process designed to sort through large volumes of dynamically generated textual information, incrementally learning process that learns as new text documents arrive and the user grades them by providing feedback. Text-based documents either dynamically retrieved from the Web or available in a textual repository on an Intranet are represented by applying key-word weighting's after capturing the user reasoning for classifying the document as relevant or irrelevant. When a new item (document) arrives, the learning agent suggests a classification and also provides an explanation by pointing out the main features (key-phrases) of the item (document) responsible for its classification. The user looks at this and provides hints by showing a list of features (key-phrases) and are truly responsible for a particular way of classifying the document. This interaction method contributes to the learning process.
