Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods and systems, including computer-implemented methods, computer program products, and computer systems, for determining a mudweight of drilling fluids in a hydrocarbon reservoir. One computer-implemented method includes: receiving pore pressure data of a rock formation in the hydrocarbon reservoir; determining permeability data of fractures of the hydrocarbon reservoir; determining Hoek-Brown failure criterion data; and determining a safe mudweight window based on the pore pressure data of the rock formation, the permeability data of the fractures, and the Hoek-Brown failure criterion data.

Abstract: A geologic survey system includes a plurality of acoustic sources spaced at intervals over a target area of a terranean surface. Each of the plurality of acoustic sensors is configured to generate a seismic energy wave. The system also includes a plurality of acoustic sensors positioned in a plurality of boreholes formed in a geologic formation, where the boreholes have a depth sufficient to reach a geologic datum. The system also includes a control system communicably coupled to the plurality of acoustic sensors and configured to perform operations including receiving, from the plurality of acoustic sensors, data associated with reflected acoustic signals generated by the plurality of acoustic sources and received by the plurality of acoustic sensors; determining, based on the received data, a subsurface topology of the geologic formation; and generating a subsurface model of the geologic formation based on the determined subsurface topology.

Abstract: A system and a method for determining the relative value of a naphtha product includes reforming the naphtha into fractions at a predetermined constant research octane number (RON), conducting PIONA analysis on the reformate, after which modules or steps are performed to assign the feed quality, assign the total liquid yields, assign raw product yields, normalize the assigned raw product yields, assign a value to one or more fractions, and calculate a total value of the naphtha stream. The method is repeated on samples of different crude oils in order to provide relative values at the predetermined RON for comparison purposes.
