  • Patent number: 8347398
Abstract: A keyboarded a mix of private and public text composing a source-text document is submitted through an encryption adapter intersituated in a data signal link between the keyboard and a computer system. A user selects and obfuscates the private text character portions with surrogate cloak characters in concurrent alternation with direct entry of the public text characters. A resultant protected document's data signal is safeguarded for editing and data storage without revelation of the private text content. The protected document is sufficiently secure for submission into a cloud computing environment and is immune to key-entry tracking malware. Clandestine hacking of residual data remaining in the computer firmware is negated in interpretative value by enabling the user's selective obfuscation of the source-text document's private text character content with surrogate cloak characters prior to entry into the computer system's keyboard input port.

  • Patent number: 7969513
Abstract: An appurtenant remote control adapter device suited for application with portable remote controllers commonly used with entertainment equipment including television receptors. The proxy adaptor is configured to intercept a sequence of wireless command signals emitted by the remote control. The intercepted command signals are adapted for temporal storage in a memory. A singular “SEND” command button may be subsequently actuated by a user to urge discharge of the temporarily stored wireless command signal from the memory for forthright translation to a remotely controlled apparatus as a usually singular packetized data burst of wireless signal. The adapter allows a user to leisurely enter individual keystrokes composing the command signal sequence and only then necessarily aim the adapter towards the remotely controlled apparatus with a concurrent singular actuation of the SEND key-button to translate the wireless signal to command the remotely controlled apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7795749
Abstract: Oceanic tidal energy sources hydroelectric generating system coupled to a primary tidal reservoir through a bi-directional tideway exciting a primary turbine as a diurnal cycle tide waxes and wanes. A secondary tidal reservoir includes a tideway and secondary turbine with flow modulated by a gradated control of a sluice gate to proportionately blend reserve tidewater capacity of the secondary tidal reservoir as a delayed resource of virtual tidal influx and reflux. An aggregate summation of tidal energy acting upon the turbine driven generators delivers a constant flow of electric power throughout the diurnal tidal cycle. A tertiary tidal reservoir operating in alternation with the secondary tidal reservoir optimizes the secondary turbine drive during slack-tide. Shunting excess tidal energy around the turbines during periods of reduced power-demand supplements tidal resources in subsequent phases of the diurnal tidal day when solar-day related power-demand may increase.

  • Patent number: 7761628
Abstract: A conjoined portable display monitor and portable keyboard similar to the arrangement of a laptop style portable computer are used to provide user interface for a desktop personal computer or workstation. The portable display monitor is configured to receive video data signals from the desktop computer, while the portable keyboard and associated mouse are configured to deliver their signals to corresponding inputs of the desktop computer. The arrangement retains the space-saving advantages of a portable computer's embodiment with the enhanced performance and available options of a full-sized desktop computer. An example mode of this teaching shows a portable computer adapted to receive video signals from and deliver keyboard signals to conventional data-signal ports inherent with the desktop computer system. The user may return the portable computer's signal ports to a conventional mode and continue usage as a conventional self-contained portable computer.

  • Patent number: 7042338
Abstract: An emergency hailing device for use by elderly, physically challenged, addicted and medically at-risk users, particularly when living alone. The device periodically interrogates the at-risk user and in absence of a prompt response to the automatic interrogation signal cue, the at-risk user is presumed to need help and an emergency service or prearranged care-provider is automatically beckoned. The device may be worn or set near the at-risk user, available for immediate manual acknowledgment after the interrogation cue signal occurs. Failure to return a prompt response within a presettable time or response absence indicates that a problematic situation may exist and an emergency signal is activated assuring the at-risk user that help will be promptly hailed even if physical or mental incapacitation occurs. Emergency signal may include a bell or siren, a flashing-light to attract neighbors, or a predetermined telephone may be auto-dialed to hail a prearranged care-provider.
