Abstract: The present invention relates to an absorbent product such as a diaper, a pant diaper, an incontinence shield or the like, having a front portion (13; 113; 213; 313; 413), a rear portion (12; 112; 212; 312; 412) and an intermediate crotch portion (1; 114; 214; 314; 414) further having an absorbent body (4;404), a liquid-impermeable bottom layer (5; 105; 205; 305; 405) and a relatively easily flexible top layer (2; 102; 202; 302; 402), which, when the absorbent product is used, is intended to lie closest to the body of the user, further having an opening (17; 117; 217; 317; 417) having, viewed in the longitudinal direction of the product, a front end (18; 118; 218; 318; 418) and a rear (21; 121; 221; 321; 421) end, and two substantially longitudinal lateral edges (19, 20; 119; 120; 219; 220; 319; 320; 419, 420), and which, at least within the area of the opening, (17; 117; 217; 317; 417) is not joined to the absorbent body (4; 404).
Abstract: A belt conveyor which includes an endless perforated belt having a top run and a bottom run, of which the top run communicates with an underlying suction box at least over a part of its length. The belt is cogwheel-driven and, seen its movement direction, includes transverse ribs which coact with the cogs of a cogwheel and a cog drive of the conveyor.
Abstract: A disposable liquid-absorbing article, such as a diaper (10), sanitary towel or similar, having a substantially longitudinal shape and including an absorption body (12) and a cover (11) enclosing the absorption body with a liquid-pervious inner sheet (17) and an outer sheet (18) and contracting elastics members (23) in contact with at least one of the sheets to give the article its shape in an in-use position. The cover sheet on which the elastics members are applied, is connected to the inside and outside of the absorption body respectively, and the elastics members (23) extend with at least one substantially continually curved portion (24, 25) over at least an area of the absorption body. The strive of the elastics members to contract and the contact of the elastics members with one of the sheets, exert a tension force on the sheet in a direction towards the curvature center of the elastics members, whereby this force is transferred and absorbed by the absorption body.
Abstract: An absorbent body intended to form the absorbent element of an absorbent article, such as a diaper, an incontinence guard or a sanitary napkin, includes a first fibre-based absorbent layer which lies proximal to the wearer in use, and a second, fibre-based absorbent layer which is intended to lie distal from the wearer in use, this second layer having a high liquid-dispersing ability. An absorbent body exhibiting particularly good absorption properties has been obtained by including in the first layer (16) a superabsorbent material (18) of high gel-strength and by mixing this superabsorbent essentially uniformly in the fibre material within at least one area of the layer, and by including between the fibre layers (17a, 17b) of the second layer (17) a layer (20) of superabsorbent material.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and to an arrangement for creating in a web (1) of sheet material a fold which includes at least one elastic thread (4). The web is placed on two mutually separated carrier elements (2, 3), and at least one prestretched elastic thread (4) is placed over the web in the space between the opposing edges of the carrier elements.
