Patents Assigned to SCAL Societe de Conditionnements en Aluminium
  • Patent number: 4567092
Abstract: The invention relates to a composite material comprising an aluminum sheet and a reinforcement associated by a thermofusible composition. This material is characterized in that the thermofusible composition contains a group of fire-resistant agents and can be fixed on a layer of insulating fibers simply by calendering. It finds its application in reinforcement of thermal and acoustic insulating panels that must have a good fire resistance and a suitable mechanical resistance.

  • Patent number: 4445310
Abstract: A process and an installation for supplying fragile caps to a closure machine which operates at a high rate, wherein caps are manufactured in situ in a plurality of cells which operate in a parallel mode, with the caps then supplied to the closure machine by a single conveyor which preserves the orientation of the caps. Detectors disposed on inclined intermediate channels control the output rate of the cells and the conveyor to ensure the machine is supplied with caps at all times, even when a cell is stopped for maintenance.

  • Patent number: 4441933
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of making sheets of aluminium suitable for drawing. The method according to the invention comprises subjecting the product issuing from a continuous casting machine to a mechanical cleaning treatment and then to a controlled heat treatment in air at elevated temperature. The method according to the invention is applicable in every case where aluminium products, such as strips etc. are subjected to drawing or reducing operations and in cases where it is desired to eliminate galling phenomena and to guarantee aesthetic qualities. The method according to the invention is used in particular in the manufacture of cans from blanks obtained by casting between cylinders.

  • Patent number: 4250727
Abstract: A process for producing thermoformed articles from thin-walled blanks composed of aluminum or magnesium alloys, the present invention particularly provides for forming a layer of alumina or magnesia on the surfaces of the respective aluminum or magnesium blank. The alumina or magnesia layers so formed are artificially formed in order to obtain desired thicknesses, the regular layers allowing ready removal of the articles from thermoforming molds. The present process is particularly intended for the production of thin-wall packaging members and motor vehicle components.

  • Patent number: 4224779
Abstract: A method for continuous packaging in metal packages produced in situ, the invention comprises the fabrication of aluminum containers from aluminum sheet immediately prior to packaging of a material in the containers, the operations being conducted as part of a continuous flow process. The metal packages are produced by thermoforming, that is, the deformation of a heated metal body in a mold by pressure, thereby resulting in the production of containers which are aseptic and which can be easily coated with a protective layer of a plastic or similar material. The invention is particularly useful for the packaging of perishable produce.
