Abstract: A finger-held instrument (25) having a handle (10) supporting a working tip (11, 31) on a mount (15) located at an end of the handle that is held proximate a working surface (43) during use, said handle being characterized by a projection (20) supported by or on said portion proximate the working tip and being dimensioned and shaped for supporting or shielding a user's finger (26a, 27a, 29a) and for exerting a contact force on the working surface so as to allow fine control of the working tip during use.
Abstract: A knife (10) has a handle (15) with a mount (16) for affixing a removable blade (11). A concave surface (17) of the mount supports an elongate protrusion (18) for engaging a complementary slot (12) in the blade and reaches a landing (20) rearward of the tip that is exposed when the blade is mounted on the handle with a surface of the blade being completely supported by the concave surface. A channel (25) in the landing is dimensioned such that a rearmost part (26) thereof remains exposed when the blade is mounted on the handle. The blade is removed by inserting a curved lever (30) into the channel underneath a rearmost part of the blade and swiveling the lever so as to disengage the blade from the elongate protrusion.
Abstract: The invention provides an ergonomic handle for precision, surgical, and dental tools including electro-surgical devices and surgical devices used in microsurgery designed to facilitate the positioning of the user's hand grip comprising a longitudinally extending body substantially oval in cross-section and being provided with four, substantially concave indentations positioned towards the proximal end of the handle, a first concave indentation being provided along a top surface of the handle, second and third indentations being provided along lateral surfaces, and a fourth indentation being provided along the bottom surface of the body respectively and positioned relative to each other to provide a contiguous interface respectively with the user's thumb, index finger and middle finger.

Abstract: An ergonomic writing instrument designed to facilitate the positioning of the user's hand grip. The writing instrument comprises a longitudinally extending body substantially oval in cross-section and being provided with four, substantially concave indentations positioned towards the proximal end of the handle, a first concave indentation being provided along a top surface of the handle, second and third indentations being provided along lateral surfaces, and a fourth indentation being provided along the bottom surface of the body, characterized in that the surface of the top of the handle is contoured such that extending from its distal end toward its proximal end and approaching the proximal end there is provided the concave indentation which extends and merges into an elevated ridge-like surface support which tapers angularly towards the proximal end of the handle.
