Publication number: 20090256089Abstract: The present invention concerns a valve (1), a valve closing body (14) and use of a valve (1) and a valve closing body (14) of the type used for injecting dry powder which is mixed with liquid, and where the dry powder is supplied under the liquid surface in a mixing vessel (11) in which a vacuum is typically maintained. The novel feature of a powder valve (1) according to the invention is that a closing body (14) of the valve in the closed position extends through the valve seat (13) of the valve and into the wet environment. It is hereby achieved that when the valve (1) is opened, powder or dust from powder is not deposited on the valve closing body (14). This is in spite of the valve closing body (14) being wet, due to contact with the liquid to which the powder is added. Due to its elongated shape, the valve closing body (14), which in the withdrawn position opens for inflow of powder, has the property that the inflowing powder dries the valve closing body (14) at first and keeps it dry subsequently.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 23, 2007Publication date: October 15, 2009Applicant: SCANIMA A/SInventors: Holger Colding-Kristensen, Hans Henrik Mortensen

Patent number: 7178977Abstract: In a homogenizer for the processing of products to be homogenized, in particular foodstuffs incorporating dairy products, where the homogenizer is of the mixer type with a blade wheel(8) in a mixer tank (1) and a tubular perforated skirt (3) located radially closely outside the blades (10) of the blade wheel (8), that the skirt stationary relative to the rotor on the hub (6) is arranged axially displaceable also during the rotation of the blades (10) for displacement from a position in which a perforated skirt section (3.2) having a set of flow perforations or orifices (4) is located radially opposite the blades (10) of the rotor, to at least one other position in which another perforated skirt section (3.1 or 3.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2002Date of Patent: February 20, 2007Assignee: Scanima A/SInventors: Holger Colding-Kristensen, Hans Henrik Mortensen

Patent number: 6564930Abstract: An endless conveyor has a driven drum that rotates about its axis. A flexible band forms a helix by being wrapped around the drum. A fixed helical support supports the outer edge of the band. A secondary conveyor moves an endless series of stacking blocks. The stacking blocks are in frictional engagement with the drum to transfer driving forces from the drum to the blocks. The stacking blocks also keep the turns of the flexible band spaced apart by a distance equal to the height of the blocks. The secondary conveyor includes guides at both the top and bottom of the drum to guide the stacking blocks into and out of engagement with the inner edge of the flexible band. The stacking blocks are in slip-free and backlash free engagement with the inner edge of the flexible band, and the frictional engagement between the stacking blocks and the drum permits the stacking blocks to be displaced both axially and circumferentially on the surface of the drum.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2001Date of Patent: May 20, 2003Assignee: Scanima A/SInventors: Holger Colding-Kristensen, Helge Bjoern
