Abstract: System and method for designing and deploying a building-related service in a building automation management system (BAMS) based on a software-defined master system (SDMS) architecture. The master system of the BAMS comprising a plurality of building automation systems (BASs) receives a request to create a building-related service involving dynamic coordination between at least two BASs. The request may include a workflow comprising a set of actions and configurations defining the building-related service. The master system uses system description data generated from the workflow to instantiate a blueprint that defines data exchanges with the at least two BASs, information about target hosts, and any dependencies to be resolved. Upon parsing the blueprint to resolve any dependencies, the master system builds a deployment plan that includes a sequence of steps and configurations for implementing the building-related service.

  • Patent number: 11277395
Abstract: The CLOUD-AUTHENTICATED SITE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT DEVICES, APPARATUSES, METHODS AND SYSTEMS (“CASRM”) transforms resource-use, weather, and user settings inputs into resource management schedule and control outputs. The CASRM achieves data transformation via using a building automation management device, comprising at least a processor a memory storing processor-executable instructions to receive, at a virtual cloud network controller, a data packet from a source building resource control device and to access a virtual routing table corresponding to a local virtual network associated with a control entity. The building automation management device may also determine a destination building resource control device based on the virtual routing table and at least one destination address in the data packet, and may send the data packet to the destination building resource control device.

  • Publication number: 20210193336
Abstract: A server associated with a building automation emergency response system, receives indications of a detected emergency from sensors distributed among zones in the building, comprising a sensor reading level and a sensor identity. The server determines a zone danger level, based on the sensor identity and on the sensor reading levels. The server calculates an evacuation route commencing from user interfaces distributed among the zones. The user interfaces include a display device. The evacuation route is calculated to traverse the zones with a lower route danger level. The evacuation route is directed toward a safe exit, based on a floor plan. The server then transmits a depiction of the evacuation route to the user interfaces for display. The server continues receiving updated indications from the sensors, determines updated route danger levels, calculates an updated evacuation route, and transmits an updated depiction of the evacuation route to the user interfaces for display.

  • Publication number: 20210191349
Abstract: A server associated with a building automation system of a building, determines an occurrence of an emergency in the building, based on detection of the emergency by sensors distributed in the building. The server transmits to a remote emergency service, an alert of the detected emergency. In response, the server receives from the remote emergency service, an authorized login to temporarily transfer to the remote emergency service, control of the building automation system to respond to the detected emergency. In response to the authorized login, the server transfers the control to the remote emergency service, and causes the remote emergency service to transmit a command to devices in the building automation system. When the command is received by the devices, it modifies or alters operation of the devices. After the detected emergency has been resolved, the server disables the temporary transfer of control by the remote emergency service.

  • Publication number: 20210172640
Abstract: System and methods for reconfiguring rooms or zones within an area in building automation are disclosed. One of the methods includes receiving a user request to group together at least a first segment and a second segment in a zone and verifying the user request using one or more rules. Upon verification of the user request, the method automatically links each object in the master segment to the corresponding object in the second segment to create the zone. Within this zone, a control program of the master segment provides a synchronized control of the environmental control equipment in the master segment and the second segment. This method of zoning provides the flexibility to perform rezoning on the fly without requiring traditional engineering, redesign or reprogramming.
