  • Patent number: 4999870
Abstract: A shoe ribbing machine of the present invention is particularly adapted to drive tacks into the insole of a shoe at a predetermined spacing through a ribbing disposed over the edge of the insole. The shoe ribbing machine includes a last over which a shoe upper including the insole can be fitted, a tack driving device confronting the last for driving tacks one after another into the insole of a shoe supported on the last, and a drive connected to one of the last and the tack driving device for moving the last and the tack driving device relative to one another. A measuring and pulse generating device is provided to detect the amount of relative movement between the last and the tack driving device. The measuring and pulse generating device issues pulses based on the detection of relative movement to control the rate at which the tack driving device drives tacks one after another as a function of the amount of relative movement between the last and the tack driving device.

  • Patent number: 4852865
Abstract: The invention relates to a holding device for the stack of paper, cardboard or similar sheet-form punching material on a punch press, with a centering pin yielding elastically at least in zones under the thrust of the punching material for engagement into centering holes of the punching material sheets. For the improvement of such a holding device, according to the invention the centering pin, preferably rigid in itself, with smooth or substantially smooth surface, is suspended both tilting and also movable thrusting in or parallel to the plane of the punching table perpendicularly and parallel to the stack edge.

  • Patent number: 4833749
Abstract: A heel support device for use in a shoe making machine for forming the toe and sides of a shoe upper tensioned over a last seated on a last support include a guide fixed with respect to the machine. A heel support member is mounted for movement guided by the guide by a drive to a supporting position whereat the heel support member bears against and supports a heel portion of the last or heel portion of the upper tensioned therearound. A switch is operatively connected to the drive and is actuated by the heel support member reaching the supporting position to stop operation of the drive upon movement of the heel support member to the supporting position. As a result, the heel support member cannot move the last from a predetermined position.

  • Patent number: 4266311
Abstract: A shoe lasting machine having a receiving device for a last, a heel band for holding a shoe upper on the last, a first wiper for shearing a heel portion of the shoe upper, a second wiper for wiping a side portion of the shoe upper, and a pincer disposed between the first and second wiper for gripping an edge portion of the upper, wherein the pincer moves over the last in a direction away from the last so that a pull directed away from the last is exerted on the edge portion to avoid forming a pocket in the upper. The pincer includes a pincer part articulated on a pincer base body for gripping the edge portion, wherein the pulling force for each individual pincher part and pincer base body is adjustable. The time point of the pincer opening is adjustable with respect to the movement of the wipers and the heel band. Preferably, the receiving device is arranged to receive the last in an upward-directed position, whereby the pincer is moved upwardly away from the last.

  • Patent number: 4167052
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for a point lasting machine to fold over an edge of a shaft of a shoe or of a shoe upper at a ball and joint part of a last of the machine. The apparatus includes movable presser members for applying pressure against opposite side surfaces of the last when the shaft or upper is positioned thereon. Associated bands are connected to the presser members respectively for folding over the shaft edge against an underside of an insole of the shoe and for holding the shaft edge in its folded position against the insole. Preferably, the bands are fabricated from an elastic material. Each band extends transversely from its associated presser member for positioning against the respective shaft and shaft edge. A tensioning device is connected to each band for tensioning the band against the associated shaft and shaft edge to fold and hold the shaft edge.
