  • Patent number: 6450549
Abstract: A press-fitting connector for plastic composite pipes, comprised of an inner plastic layer, an outer plastic layer, and a middle metal layer, has a support member receiving the end of a plastic composite pipe. The support member has an outer collar having a first end face facing the plastic composite pipe and a second end face facing away from the plastic composite pipe. An insulating plastic ring is positioned at the first end face. A press-fit sleeve secures the pipe end on the support member. The outer collar has two diametrically opposed cutouts. The insulating plastic ring is a curved spring washer with two convexly curved and two concavely curved portions, wherein the convexly curved portions have monolithic, axis-parallel tongues engaging the cutouts of the circumferential rib. The axis-parallel tongues in the end position of the plastic composite pipe project partially from the cutouts past the second end face of the outer collar.

  • Patent number: 5881907
Abstract: The top (2) of a sheet metal container (1) for the transportation and storage of liquids has a central fill opening (3) which is edged by a neck (5) which is perpendicular to the top surface (4) of the container. A plastic or metal ring (6) with an external thread (7) is pressed down against the top surface (4) by the upper edge (8) of the neck (5). The neck is swaged outwardly. The threaded ring (6) is protected against rotation by form-fit connections on the neck (5). A plastic screw cap (11) into which a disc-shaped insert (12) of special steel is pressed, is screwed onto the threaded ring (6). Between the outside edge (13) of the cap insert (12) and a ring projection (14) of the latter, an annular groove (15) for holding a gasket (16) is molded into the insert, and by this gasket (16) the screw cap (11) is sealed against the upper edge (8) of the neck (5).

  • Patent number: 5673630
Abstract: A pallet (1) is made of steel or plastic, with a sublime (2), corner feet (7) and center feet (15, 16), a base pan (8) made of sheet metal, resting on feet (7, 15, 16), with a drainage bottom (9), which has a drainage channel (10). Base pan (8) holds, with positive fit, an internal container (11) made of plastic with an outer jacket (12) made of sheet metal or lattice work and a drainage bottom (13), or forms part of a sheet metal container. A stiffening sheet (14), made like a girder, is fastened under the base pan (8), crosswise to its drainage channel (10). Further to provide greater transport security and simplification of construction, two center feet (15, 16) are integrally molded on both ends (14a, 14b) of the stiffening sheet (14) that is made like a bridge.

  • Patent number: 5665189
Abstract: A process for reconditioning a standardized tight head drum for re-use as either a tight-head drum or a wide-neck drum. The standardized tight head drum has an upper head drum welded to the drum body at a seam. This drum is reconditioned by separating the upper drum head from the drum along a cut line at a location below the seam. The cut edge is smoothed and sized and the interior of the drum is cleaned. For re-use as a tight head drum, an upper head having a fill plug and a vent plug is welded onto the cut edge of the drum. For re-use as a wide-neck drum, a neck ring is welded onto the cut edge and a wide-neck drum cover is placed on the neck ring. The reconditioned tight head and wide-neck drums have the same nominal volume and the same height and diameter dimensions as the tight head drum prior to reconditioning.

  • Patent number: 5225125
Abstract: A lid (1) is injection-molded of polyethylene, for a widemouthed barrel of a synthetic resin, and includes an outer rim (4) encompassing the barrel neck (3) and an inner rim (5) dipping into the barrel neck. The outer lid rim (4) and inner lid rim (5) form an annular space (7), an annular web (8) projecting axially from the base of this space. For producing the lid gasket (13), the annular space (7) is exposed to an open flame for activating the annular space surface. Subsequently the sealing material, preferably polyurethane, is injected from a foaming machine into the base of the annular space (7), and thereafter the lid (1) is vibrated in order to degasify the gasket (13). The sealing material, preferably consisting of foamed polyurethane, contains a parting compound having a long-term effect.
