Abstract: The lightweight embankment (1) comprises blocks (3) stacked in successive layers, the blocks of the same layer being separated by gaps (7). The blocks can in particular be made of expanded polystyrene. Application to embankments to support roads.
Abstract: The subject of this invention is a binder layer which can be driven over for pavements composed of a primary binder film and of an opaque aqueous protective layer capable of reflecting luminous radiation which covers the surface of the said binder film.

Abstract: The method comprises spreading a layer of bituminous binding material on the surface, spreading at least one layer of aggregates on the layer of binding material, and compacting the layer of aggregates in contact with the layer of binding material. The aggregates consist of loose chips covered with a mixture, which has a pasty consistency, of bitumen and of pulverulent material. The layer of binding material contains at least 11% of the total quantity of bitumen used in the coating. The operations of spreading the binding material and the aggregates and of compacting and surfacing the coating are performed in succession within a period of less than 5 seconds, the speed of advance of the site being at least ten meters per minute.
Abstract: The process according to the invention is characterized by the following stages:(A) an emulsion of asphalt composition is made starting from (a) an asphalt composition prepared by adding, at a temperature of 100.degree. to 150.degree. C., 20 to 95 parts of asphalt to 5 to 80 parts by weight of a polyurethane extender and from (b) an aqueous phase obtained by solution in water of 1 to 20% by weight of an emulsifier chosen from a polyamine hydrochloride, an amido-amine hydrochloride and a quaternary ammonium salt, then the asphalt composition (a), taken to a temperature of 120.degree. to 150.degree. C., is emulsified with the aqueous phase (b), taken to a temperature of 40.degree. to 80.degree. C.; p0 (B) a polyisocyanate aqueous emulsion is made by mixing, under strong agitation, 20 to 50 parts by weight of an organic polyisocyanate made up to 100 parts with water; and(C) the emulsions (A) and (B) are mixed. They then form, by reticulation at ambient temperature, a polyurethane in the mixture.
Abstract: This invention relates to a coating composition for roads, airports, industrial floorings, canals and dams comprising inorganic granulates coated with 4-12 wt%, by weight of the granulates, of 25.degree.-60.degree. EVT pitch and with 5-30 wt%, by weight of the coal pitch, of ground waste plastic materials, to a process for its preparation and to the coatings obtained thereby. The coatings of this invention possess good resistance to furrowing and to punching.
