Abstract: A cable cutting tool for producing slits in medium and large-diameter cable in a safe and efficient manner includes a cable supporting component and a blade supporting component. The supporting components are displaceable relative to one another to provide an opening corresponding to the cable of the desired diameter. The blade supporting component includes a cartridge and two blades mounted to the cartridge. The blades are uniformly configured to provide a two slit cut defining a rectangular strip along the jacket of the cable which can be easily removed from the cable.
Abstract: A portable tool for cutting an armor of a cable is configured with two clamping units pivotally mounted to one another swing between an open position in which the desired blade penetration depth into the armor is set, and a closed position in which the cable is engaged for producing a cut. One of the clamping units supports a stop unit configured with a screw mounted to the one clamping unit and extending transversely to the rotation axis of the blade. The stop unit further has a bracket traversed by the screw, and a pin traversed by and threaded on the screw and mounted within the bracket. The stop unit further has a stroke-adjusting nut threaded on the screw and operative to actuate relative displacement between the bracket and pin so as to set the desired penetration depth and control the displacement of the blade into the armor at the desired depth.
Abstract: A blade stripper has a displaceable blade carriage, which is normally biased toward a cable support to automatically accommodate differently dimensioned jacketed cables, and a pair of coaxial handles spaced apart along a longitudinal axis of the blade stripper to allow the user to apply pulling forces directed substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis for producing a linear cut in the jacket.
Abstract: A hand saw is provided with a support having a front lever, which is pivotable about one of the opposite ends of the support between a rest position, in which it extends coplanar with the support, to an operative position, and a handle mounted on the other end of the support and rotatable thereabout from and in a respective rest position, in which the handle extends coplanar to the support, so as to the hand saw has substantially a linear configuration when the front lever and the handle are displaced in their rest positions.
Abstract: A hand held tool for stripping cable jackets and wire insulation with an adjustable cutting blade applying either longitudinal or ring cuts to the jackets or insulation.
