Patents Assigned to Seiko Epson Corporaton
  • Patent number: 9156273
Abstract: Control of a printer involves reading a cartridge identification number from a memory in a cartridge and storing such number, generating status information including such number and may further include a calculated ink usage amount, and sending the status information to a data processing apparatus, which may be a server. In some embodiments, the ink usage amount is calculated as a number of discharged ink shots. The server saves the status information. This or another upstream server can reliably determine the number of ink shots used by the printer only for printing from this status information. Such control is embodied in a program stored on a non-transitory controller-readable medium, which program is executed by a controller in the printer.

  • Publication number: 20090029153
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a plastic lens which exhibits outstanding weather resistance and light resistance with a minimum of deteriorating effect on the organic antireflection thin film formed thereon. The plastic lens is composed of a plastic lens base material, a hard coating layer formed on the plastic lens base material, and an antireflection film formed on the hard coating layer, wherein the hard coating layer is one which is formed from a coating composition comprising inorganic oxide fine particles containing titanium oxide with a rutile-type crystallite and an organosilicon compound as a binder.

  • Patent number: 6862428
Abstract: In a printer provided with a sheet reversing mechanism, and which can perform printing on both faces of a sheet by a common print head, reduction of the number of parts, prevention of a transport failure, and the like are realized by reversing the sheet while the sheet is clamped by one transporting roller pair. The printer includes a first sheet path. A print head is disposed on the first sheet path to perform printing on a recording sheet. A transporting roller pair includes a first roller and a second roller, adapted to transport the recording sheet in a first direction approaching the print head (toward an outlet) and a second direction opposed to the first direction (toward an inlet). A second sheet path is branched from the first sheet path at a branching position shifted from the first roller in the second direction, extending along an outer periphery of the first roller, and joined to the first sheet path at a joining position between the transporting roller pair and the print head.

  • Publication number: 20040169797
Abstract: The invention enhances the aperture ratio of an electro-optical panel. A light-shielding layer includes a first light-shielding layer and second light-shielding layers. The first light-shielding layer is formed so as to overlap a plurality of scanning lines and a plurality of data lines. Each of the second light-shielding layers is provided on the downside of the direction of rubbing with respect to the corresponding projecting pattern. Each of the projecting patterns is formed such that part thereof overlaps the corresponding data line. The second light-shielding layers overlap the first light-shielding layer. All or part of each of the second light-shielding layers can also function as the first light-shielding layer to increase the area of an aperture.
