  • Patent number: 10799427
Abstract: There is disclosed a drinking receptacle comprising: a container for containing a fluid for drinking; and an outlet member having an outlet through which the fluid is delivered under a pressure supplied by a user of the receptacle and a collar portion that attaches to an opening of the container such that an undersurface of the collar portion abuts with an upper surface of the opening of the container to form a substantially sealed engagement between the outlet member and the container; wherein either the undersurface of the collar portion or the upper surface of the opening of the container has at least one vent formed therein, the at least one vent being configured such that when said pressure is applied to the outlet member the at least one vent member permits the controlled ingress of air into the container to facilitate flow of fluid from the outlet, and when said pressure is removed the at least one vent member substantially prevents the ingress of air into the container to facilitate a controlled vacuu

  • Patent number: 6524486
Abstract: An apparatus and method for separating microalgae from water without rupturing cells. The method comprises the steps of flocculation, flotation and dehydration. Microalgae suspension from a reservoir is passed to a mixer unit where flocculation is carried out, using modified starch or other flocculating agents. The suspension is then directed to a flotation column. Dissolved gas in water is transferred to the flotation column through a disperser. A layer of foam containing microalgae is formed on the liquid layer in the column, which can be skimmed off through an overflow outlet. The flotation column is a telescopic column of adjustable height, which enables the position of the overflow outlet to be aligned with the level of the foam layer for efficient foam removal. Foam containing microalgae is then passed to a filtration unit for cloth filtration, followed by drying in a drying chamber.

  • Patent number: 4982825
Abstract: A torque and air gap adjustment mechanism is provided for a spring engaged electromagnetic brake or clutch, and consists of a plurality of hubs threaded to one another and to the brake casing for axial movement with respect thereto and with respect to each other. A plurality of detents are disposed within the hub positioned in cylindrical holes with springs forcing them away from each other and out of the holes. These detents are retained in the holes at one end by a hub provided for the torque adjustment and at the other end by the brake plate. In both the hub and the brake plate there are indentations to retain the detents. These indentations have differing angles as do the engaging surfaces of the detents to permit torque adjustment independent of air gap adjustment upon rotation of the torque adjusting hub.

  • Patent number: 4974719
Abstract: A process and apparatus for regularly and continuously supplying articles to an evacuation conveyor from at least one feed conveyor. The articles are arranged in successive rows on each feed conveyor and are deposited onto the evacuation conveyor which moves the articles in a single longitudinally extending row. The evacuation conveyor is positioned at an acute angle relative to each of said feed conveyors and each of the article is aligned and moved through an angle on the evacuation conveyor which is substantially complementary to the acute angle. The speeds of the feed and evacuation conveyors are adjusted so that the spacing between the last article in a given row deposited from a feed conveyor onto the evacuation conveyor and the first article in a successively deposited row is substantially the same as the spacing between adjacent articles within any row.
