  • Patent number: 9194416
Abstract: A self-drilling screw made of an austenitic or other stainless steel, is provided having a drilling tip. The shank is integrally formed of an austenitic or other stainless steel and has a galvanically applied thin coating at least in the tip region, with the coating being harder than a non-coated region. The thin coating has a pearl-like or columnar surface, a coating thickness of at least 2 ?m and a hardness in a range of from 500 to 1500 HV0.3. The self-drilling screw can be produced more simply than a typical self-drilling screw, in which the drilling tip consists of a harder material than the shank and is welded to the shank made of stainless steel. The coating ensures the drilling capacity and thread formation.

  • Patent number: 9169019
Abstract: A fastening system for overhead storage bins on a supporting structure, having at least one pair of suspension eye lugs attached to a supporting structure or the overhead storage bins. The suspension eye lugs are detachably interconnected by a main pin, with receivers for the main pin being in alignment in a mounting position of the overhead storage bin. The main pin is spring-loaded in a main pin guide toward the other suspension eye lug and has, with the overhead storage bin not yet mounted, an end position in which the main pin is deployed from the main pin guide. A portion of the suspension eye lugs has a sloping ramp that allows the main pin to be deployed in the receiver of the other suspension eye lug by action of preload during upward movement of the overhead storage bin and its suspension eye lug into the mounting position.

  • Patent number: 9150309
Abstract: A fastening system (10) for hanging mountable overhead containers (12) is provided. The system includes at least one pair of support lugs (20, 22) mounted on a support structure (14) or on the overhead container (12). The support lugs (20, 22) can be detachably connected to each other by a pin (30) that can be drawn back in a pin guide (40) and thereby spring-loaded in the exit direction. When the support lug (22) attached to the overhead container (12) is inserted into the support lug (20) having the pin guide (40) when installing the container, the pin (30) is unlatched in the pin guide (40) and automatically moves out into the support eye (22) attached to the overhead container (12). Using a lever joined (60) to the pin guide (40) by a hinge, the pin (30) can be moved out completely into an end position, and locked in said position. In order to remove the overhead container (12), the lever (60) must simply be pivoted back.

  • Patent number: 8939473
Abstract: A locking mechanism (100) and a lock (110) are provided. The locking mechanism (100) comprises a push-button (148) connected to a freewheel (154) via a traction cable, with the freewheel being connected to a drive device (160) of the lock (110). A baggage compartment in the cabin of an airplane usually comprises two locks (110) of this type which can be unlocked by the push-button (148). A freewheel (154) arranged between the push-button (148) and the lock (110) ensures that the push-button (148) remains in a pushed position as long as each lock (110) allocated to the baggage compartment is not in a correctly locked position. It can be identified from the position of the push-button of the baggage compartment whether both locks of the baggage compartment are correctly snapped in.

  • Publication number: 20150010376
Abstract: A bolt-like fastening element (30), which is preferably in the form of a drilling screw shaped by pressing and/or rolling, having a head portion (LK), which has a holding region (LH) and has a starting hardness, and also having an initial portion (LA), which adjoins the head portion (LK) by way of a transition region (LÜ) and is additionally inductively hardened. The fastening element (30) is produced by cold forming from a blank made of a carbon steel having a starting tensile strength of at least 800 N/mm2. The induction hardening of the fastening element extends only to the initial portion thereof, i.e. in the case of a drilling screw to the drill bit (24) and the first turns of the thread (36). After the induction hardening, the drilling screw substantially has the starting tensile strength and is ductile in the head portion (LK).

  • Patent number: 8579569
Abstract: A retaining cam (20) for a rotatable fastener for connecting components (16, 17) is provided. The retaining cam (20) has a housing (22) pivotally supported on a base plate (24), by which the retaining cam (20) can be fixedly connected to one (17) of the components (16, 17). A screw (30) is secured rotationally fixed in the housing (22). A fastener bolt (40) rotatably connected to another (16) of the components (16, 17) can be screwed onto the screw (30). Spring elements are associated with the screw (30) for generating an elastic pretension for securing the fastener bolt (40) against rotation. The housing (22) is pivotally supported on the base plate (24) by a spherical washer (50). An angle deviation between the center axes of the retaining cam (20) and the fastener bolt (40) can be compensated for by pivoting the retaining cam on the spherical washer (50) while maintaining full-surface contact of the retaining cam (20).
