Abstract: A method for playing back advertisement and video content and an electronic apparatus using this method are provided, which allows an electronic apparatus to simultaneously play back advertisement and video content. Therefore, a user no need to waste time on waiting until the advertisement is finished. The method includes the following steps: detecting whether an advertisement need to be played back or not; when detecting that the advertisement needs to be played back, splitting an available presenting window of the electronic apparatus into a primary presenting part and at least one secondary presenting part according to a split policy; presenting a video content on the primary presenting part of the available presenting window; and presenting the advertisement on the at least one secondary presenting part of the available presenting window; wherein the video content and the advertisement are presented on the available presenting window of the electronic apparatus simultaneously.

Abstract: An audio management method and an implementation in an Android Operating System are provided for allowing an electronic device to manipulate audio control of a multiple-window system and for allowing a user to manipulate audio control of execution environments corresponding to each of the plurality of windows, such as switching to a mute mode, switching to a normal audio mode, raising volume, and/or decreasing volume, and various sound processing, etc. The multiple-window system can be implemented by a multiple-window system with a plurality of windows in a single electronic device, or can be implemented by a multiple-device system including an electronic device connecting with another remote device wherein the remote device is used as an extended window. The electronic device can maintain a plurality of execution environments, wherein each of the plurality of execution environments is corresponding to a window system.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus capable of communicating with first display devices and second display device to allow establishing M:N source devices to sink devices content composition. It include a transceiver module, a layout manager, a compositor, a mixer, and a human-machine-interactivity mapper. Transceiver module is arranged for communicating with first display devices and receiving contents from first display devices, it is also arranged for communicating with second display device and transmitting a combined image to the second display device. Layout manager is arranged for maintaining layout information of second display device so as to generate a layout policy. Compositor is arranged for composing images of contents so as to generate combined image according to layout policy. Mixer is arranged for mixing audio streams of contents so as to generate a mixed audio stream according to audio mixing policy.

Abstract: Method and system for providing intuitive user interaction for sharing among multiple devices is provided, where a remote device without intuitive user interaction is connected to a local device configured with intuitive user interaction; a thumbnail control scheme in which display images of remote device screen are rendered in local device's screen and intuitive method to allow user to quickly interact with remote side application is provided; generic remote control scheme in which local device is acting as an external user interaction peripheral device of remote device is provided; and a region enhancement mode is provided by having areas pre-defined in the remote device, and having the pre-defined areas' respective layouts resized, reconfigured and mirrored in the local device, while the touch events that have occurred in the mapped areas in the local device are remapped and sent to an application that is rendered in the remote device.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for displaying software keyboards are provided. The apparatus includes a touch screen and a control module. The touch screen is configured to display a primary software keyboard and configured to receive a user input of a user, wherein the primary software keyboard comprises a focus area, at least one adjacent area, and at least one periphery area. The focus area indicates a location for receiving the user input and is surrounded by the at least one adjacent area, and the at least one adjacent area are surrounded by the at least one periphery area. The control module is coupled to the touch screen for controlling the touch screen to enlarge the focus area and the at least one adjacent area while shrinking the at least one periphery area. By implementing such a method, users are allowed to type faster and more easily on the apparatus.

Abstract: A method for defining a set of gesture sequence controlling an order of priority for processing assignment with respect to an operating system of an electronic device hosting an application program, and to the application program itself is provided by the following steps: a start position is determined as whether being detected in the menu area, followed by detecting and determining if a set of gesture sequence is a swipe; upon determining that the starting point is not detected in the menu area, the gesture sequence is sent for application level processing first; upon determining that the set of gesture sequence is a swipe, the gesture sequence sent for system level processing first; upon determining that the set of gesture sequence is not a swipe, the gesture sequence is sent to the application for application level processing first.

Abstract: Method and system for mirroring multimedia content for sharing between multiple display devices is provided. Preferred usage configuration modes for smart mirroring for multiple display system are provided, in which multiple sets of display frame buffers can be provided in which each set of compatible display frame buffer is correspondingly allocated for one display device having a particular resolution. Preferred usage configuration modes are adapted for smaller screen, larger screen, and balanced usage between smaller screen and larger screen together. Dynamic switching between preferred usage configuration modes is available. System level API and inherit support at hardware side of the display devices are configured to allow for rendering of various display frame buffers to various display devices.
