Abstract: A pilot and thermocouple mounting bracket for supporting a thermocouple and for supporting a pilot and pilot shield adjacent a burner includes a central plate member and a plurality of tabs attached to the central plate member. At least some of the tabs include apertures for receiving the thermocouple and the pilot and are bent in various configurations enabling the pilot to be supported in a substantially horizontal orientation relative to the burner. A locking tab forms part of the mounting bracket and is engageable with the pilot shield to eliminate the possibility of misplacing the pilot shield. By supporting the pilot in a substantially horizontal orientation relative to the burner, dust is prevented from building up in and around the pilot shield, and cleaning and lighting the pilot is made easier.
Abstract: Disclosed is a gas-fired chick brooder having an improved radiant which prevents reflector pan warpage and increases the efficiency of the brooder. The radiant comprising conventional fibrous ceramic is provided with a radial extension intermediate its lower and upper portions. The radial extension extends the radiant at least towards and in a preferred embodiment in contact with the perforated glow housing. This reduces or, in the preferred embodiment, prevents the flow of combustion gases into the region of the connection between the perforated glow housing and the reflector pan thereby preventing warpage of the reflector pan and improving the efficiency of operation.
Abstract: A plural nipple poultry watering system assembly combines a structural support, a water tube, plural nipples and catch cups. The watering system is assembled in multiple modules arranged serially in longitudinal alignment to provide watering systems of various lengths. It yields high water flow for maximum growth rate. In addition, the plural nipple poultry watering system can be suspended from a triangular truss system.
Abstract: There is disclosed a waste oil burner having a quick connect and disconnect subassembly. The subassembly includes a housing and an elongated horizontally disposed elongated metal block extending therefrom and terminating in a nozzle for carrying outwardly waste oil and air. The block describes a tortuous path for waste oil which is subjected to being heated in view of the presence of an electric heater in the block. The block also has a bore for the introduction and carrying out compressed air. Suitable air and waste oil connections are supplied approximate the rear end portion of the block. Electric plug in connection is provided whereby electrical contact is made with electric outlet means associated with said oil burner main assembly.
