  • Patent number: 8708803
Abstract: A method for providing an award feature on a gaming machine is provided. The method includes providing a sequential series of games, each game of the sequential series producing a game outcome, which can be a winning or losing outcome. A winning outcome results in an award value to be added to a player's award total. The highest single award value is determined from all award values resulting from all the games of the sequential series of games. Prior to adding the highest single award value to the player's award total, a multiplier is applied to the highest single award value to obtain a multiplied value. The multiplied value is added to the player's award total in place of the highest award value.

  • Patent number: 8668569
Abstract: A redraw round and feature round are provided to supplement a game of chance. The game of chance may be implemented on a gaming machine or in a traditional manner as described. The game of chance is based on matching player selected spot numbers or player card numbers to randomly generated numbers. The redraw round is triggered if a predetermined number of redraw trigger numbers are generated and displayed as drawn numbers. In the redraw round the gaming machine generates redraw numbers which supplement the draw numbers. A comparison between the combined set of draw and redraw numbers to the player spot numbers occurs and if a predetermined number of matches occur the player is provided an award. A feature round occurs if a predetermined number of feature trigger numbers are drawn. The feature round provides one or more random award to the player.

  • Publication number: 20130324217
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for administering game play include displaying an electronic reel simulation including a multiple reel array for a wagering game on a display. A user input indicates a selected play option from a plurality of play options. All play options enable all displayed positions of the multiple reel array to be considered in winning outcomes. A game outcome is determined and presented as game symbols on the display. Winning combinations of the game symbols are determined, wherein each winning combination includes three or more matching game symbols appearing in the displayed positions on each of three or more adjacent reels and at least one of the three or more matching game symbols is not used in another winning combination. A payout is determined and multiplied by a multiple correlated to the selected play option when a substitute multiplier symbol appears as one of the game symbols.

  • Patent number: 8475268
Abstract: A method for awarding a jackpot, and a corresponding gaming machine and system. The jackpot is awarded based upon a presence of scatter symbols appearing in a game outcome in a predefined manner. The jackpot is preferably linked across multiple machines. In a preferred form, scatter symbols on one reel may be in an active or inactive state, the jackpot is awarded only if they are in the active state, and the probability of them being in an active state is dependent upon the size of the player's wager, so as to provide linear returns to players.
