  • Patent number: 7591494
Abstract: A window latch assembly for locking first and second windows together includes a cover member coupled to the first window, and a handle pivotably coupled to the cover member. A lock member is fixedly coupled to the handle and has a lock portion adapted to protrude beyond a planar extent of the cover into a locked position, wherein the lock portion engages a lock keeper coupled to the second window, and an unlocked position, wherein the lock keeper is retracted inside the cover member. A mechanical finger is movable between a first position allowing the lock portion to be moved from the unlocked position to the locked position, and a second position preventing the lock portion from being moved from the unlocked position to the locked position, thereby preventing damage of the first and second windows.

  • Patent number: 6932088
Abstract: A mouthguard (10) has a U-shaped base (11) having an upper surface (16) and a lower surface (18). An inner wall (19) extends upwardly from an inner margin of the base upper surface. An outer wall (21) extends upwardly from an outer margin of the base upper surface. The inner and outer walls defined with the base upper surface a trough adapted to receive a person's upper teeth. The improvement comprises a recess (24) that extends into at least one of the inner wall and base proximate the wearer's front or incisor teeth, and extends between the base upper and lower surfaces. The recess is so positioned, configured and arranged as to enable the wearer to suck fluids from the trough through the recess when the mouthguard is installed such that the mouthguard will fit more closely then if such fluids were present in the trough.

  • Patent number: 6546671
Abstract: A latch assembly for double hung windows also permits each of the sashes to be tilted inwardly with respect to the window frame assembly. The window latch assembly includes a keeper which is recessed within a lower rail of the upper window sash, and a latch which is recessed in the upper rail of the lower window sash and positioned such that the latch and the keeper are selectively engaged upon rotation of a sweeper cam. The sweeper cam also engages a slide translatable between a first position engaging one of the side rails of the window frame assembly, and a second position, retracted within the lower window sash and release the upper edge of the window sash from the window frame assembly.

  • Patent number: 6280196
Abstract: A tooth bleaching tray (20) broadly includes a U-shaped trough-like member (21) having a central arcuate portion (22) and having an extension portion (23, 24) continuing from either end thereof and terminating in a distal end (25, 26). The tray has an outer wall (28) adapted to face toward the outer surface of a person's teeth, an inner wall (29) adapted to face toward the inner surface of such person's teeth, and a bottom surface (30) joining the lower margins of the inner and outer walls. A thin flexible wall (31, 32) is located at each extension portion distal end (25, 26) and joins the margins of the inner and outer walls and the bottom surface. This flexible portion is adapted to conform to the shape of such person's rearwardmost molar without deformation of the trough-like member, and functions as a dam to prevent bleaching composition from flowing out of the trough-like member through the distal ends.

  • Patent number: 5640828
Abstract: An insulated window panel assembly for use in window and door assemblies having an improved insulating spacer between the window panes comprising the panel assembly. At least two panes of glass or other panel material are interconnected in parallel, spaced relationship by a spacer assembly. The spacer assembly is preferably a single length of tubing, generally rectangular in shape, having an outer wall of a first width interconnected to an inner wall of less width by generally concave sidewalls. The sidewalls also contain a bead of sealer material configured to seal with the adjacent window panes. A secondary seal is deposited on the outer wall and overlaps the sidewalls to also form a seal with the window panes. The spacer assembly is preferably one piece, bent to conform to the overall shape of the window panes wherein a first end of the spacer is connected to the opposite end. Folds may be made in the spacer along a crimp line formed in the inner wall to accommodate angular window pane configurations.

  • Patent number: 5088258
Abstract: An improved insulating spacer assembly for reducing heat transfer between panes of an insulated glazing unit comprises an extruded or roll-formed hollow metal spacer together with thermal breaks and primary sealant. The spacer and thermal breaks are preferably coextruded together, with the thermal breaks being extruded along the upper third portion of the spacer sidewalls, lengthwise along the spacer sidewall. The primary sealant is extruded along the middle third of the spacer sidewalls, parallel to and in cohering relationship to the thermal breaks. The invention also provides insulated glazing units wherein the spacer assembly is sandwiched between two glass panes to provide an exterior channel which is filled with a secondary sealant composition which also covers the exposed edges of the glass panes.
