Abstract: Optically active mono-esters of dicarboxylic acid of the formula III: ##STR1## being useful as intermediates for preparing optically active natural products or medicines; asymmetric synthesis process for preparing thereof being characterized by the reaction of an acid anhydride with an (R)- or (S)-arylacetic acid derivative; and the key substances therefor are also claimed.
Abstract: A chromatographic plate comprising a support having a plurality of linear grooves engraved on the rear is disclosed. Each of said grooves have a uniform depth of a half or less as large as the thickness of the support and serves to guide a cutter. After the chromatographic development, the support may easily be cloven along the grooves into strips together with an adsorbent layer carried by the front of the support to give a sample holder for mass spectrometry.
Abstract: An improved micro electrode and in its production method is disclosed. The electrode includes a tapering capillary tube of which the thicker end is 2 mm or smaller in the outside diameter, a conductive filament of 50 .mu.m or smaller in the outside diameter, an outer lead wire and a filler which is packed in the cavity of the capillary tube. The improvement comprising a direct connection of the conductive filament with the outer lead wire in the cavity of the capillary tube and the use of an insulating resin as the filler. The production method comprises a step of threading the conductive filament into the tapering capillary tube to make the tip of the filament project from the needle end of the capillary tube. The method is improved by filling at least part of the cavity of the capillary tube with a volatile solvent to facilitate the threading.
