Publication number: 20190135144Abstract: A hinge and armrest assembly is provided with a stationary portion and a reclining portion. The stationary portion is affixed to a seat bottom and the reclining portion is affixed to a seat back. A link is coupled to the fixed portion on one end and a rotating cage on the opposite end. The rotating cage is located and overlays an armrest receiving portion on the reclining portion. An armrest has a pin that extends through the armrest receiving portion and rotating cage. As the reclining portion rotates with respect to the stationary portion, the rotating cage rotates to maintain the angle of the armrest to the fixed portion.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2017Publication date: May 9, 2019Applicant: Shrock Manufacturing, Inc.Inventors: Timothy J. Patent number: 7802329Abstract: A frame member supports a seat and a back and is movable between a horizontal position for supporting a user thereon and a vertical position for stowing the frame against the wall. Linkage secures the frame member to a wall mounting apparatus. The linkage includes oppositely disposed pairs of links that pivot the frame member relative to the wall to define a first distance between the wall and the frame member when the frame is in the vertical position and a second lesser distance between the wall and the frame member when the frame is in the horizontal position thus requiring less space between the frame and the wall. The frame assembly also has a leg pivotally connected to the frame member by linkage such that the leg moves beneath the frame between an upstanding supporting position and a collapsed storage position coincident with movement of the frame.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 2008Date of Patent: September 28, 2010Assignee: Shrock Manufacturing, Inc.Inventors: Scott J. Patent number: 5730412Abstract: A locking adjustable seat assembly for use in motor vehicles such as van conversions, motorhomes, and other recreational vehicles that allows the seat to be adjusted in the fore and aft direction and then locked into place. The seat assembly disclosed herein conforms to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and is lightweight yet stronger, stiffer, and much more able to withstand a crash than traditional designs. The present invention utilizes a pair of mounting brackets formed from a pair of spaced apart sidewalls that include slots for supporting the sliding seat frame. The assembly includes a locking mechanism that engages a locking pin disposed between the side wall brackets, and adjusts to and automatically locks in a number of predetermined positions.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 1996Date of Patent: March 24, 1998Assignee: Shrock Manufacturing, Inc.Inventor: Fred J. Patent number: 5528778Abstract: The invention is directed to a seat-bed assembly movable between a seat position and a bed position, and including a seat support, a back support, and a frame having a horizontal support member. A plurality of links, including a first link and a second link, interconnect the seat support and the back support with the frame. The links support the seat support and the back support for movement between the seat position and the bed position. Each of the first link and the second link have one end thereof with an opening therein. The horizontal support member has an upper surface and includes two side plates. An elongated opening extends downwardly from the upper surface. Each side plate has a first guide channel associated with the first link and a second guide channel associated with the second link. A first pin extends through the first link opening and each first guide channel, and a second pin extends through the second link opening and each second guide channel.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1994Date of Patent: June 25, 1996Assignee: Shrock Manufacturing, Inc.Inventors: Fred J. Patent number: 5397170Abstract: A bracket for mounting a headrest assembly to a vehicle seat frame. The headrest bracket includes a pair of spaced housing parts connected by one or more cross members to define a central recess part. The cross members may be integral parts of the top and bottom walls of each housing part. When mounted to the upper cross bar of the seat frame, the cross member overlies the cross bar. The recess part allows the center springs or other support members to be connected to the upper cross bar through. The recess part may have an opening to allow the supports to be connected directly to the cross bar.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1993Date of Patent: March 14, 1995Assignee: Shrock Manufacturing, Inc.Inventor: Fred J. Patent number: 5195194Abstract: An improved seat-bed extender assembly for a convertible seat-bed. The assembly includes an attachable platform and corresponding linkage to allow conversion to a full-sized bed in conjunctive relation with a convertible seat and for operation of the platform independently of the seat.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 1992Date of Patent: March 23, 1993Assignee: Shrock Manufacturing, Inc.Inventors: Thomas C. Patent number: 5038423Abstract: A motorized convertible seat-bed to electrically shift the seat-bed from between its seat position and its bed position. The seat-bed including a drive unit and a pair of mounting plates connected to a seat support and back support pivotally interconnected by a pivot pin. The drive unit including a worm gear and slide assembly having a worm gear follower wherein rotation of the worm gear causes the slide assembly to shift along a longitudinal track carried by the frame side of the seat bed. A pivoted drive arm is interconnected between the slide assembly and the pivot pin such that as the slide assembly is shifted from its fully extended position to its fully retracted position the drive arm applies an upward force on the pivot pin to pivot the plates and supports into a bed position.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1990Date of Patent: August 13, 1991Assignee: Shrock Manufacturing, Inc.Inventor: Rex D.
