Abstract: Methods and apparatus for an intraocular lens with a proofed surface are disclosed. The proofed surface functions as a barrier to fluid diffusion inside the material and within vacuoles. By preventing the interstitial filling of fluid, the formation of spots inside the polymer matrix is inhibited or reduced. The proofed surface of the intraocular lenses is a highly stable re-assembled surface without any coating or grafting.

Abstract: Systems and methods for designing and implanting a customized intra-ocular lens (IOL) is disclosed. In one embodiment, a system includes an eye analysis module that analyzes a patient's eye and generates biometric information relating to the eye. The system also includes eye modeling and optimization modules to generate an optimized IOL model based upon the biometric information and other inputted parameters representative of patient preferences. The system further includes a manufacturing module configured manufacture the customized IOL based on the optimized IOL model. In addition, the system can include an intra-operative real time analyzer configured to measure and display topography and aberrometry information related to a patient's eye for assisting in proper implantation of the IOL.
Abstract: Described herein is a method for optimization of the conditions of execution of the vision contrast test and the corresponding system with which to implement said method so as to be able to guarantee optimal conditions throughout the test session even when not it is not possible to respect the standards. Furthermore, the method comprises a self-calibration procedure, which definitively eliminates the operations of calibration of the system by specialized centers.

Abstract: Disclosed are a device for loading a flexible intraocular lens into an injection cartridge capable of serving as a packaging support, an injection cartridge and a set formed by said loading device and an injection cartridge. The loading device comprises a tubular element (1) having an internal passage (10), said passage comprising a receiving section (11), an intermediate truncated folding section (12) and an end section (13) capable of receiving an injection cartridge detachably, a supporting element (3) mounted in said receiving section, capable of supporting a lens in a non-folded state, and a plunger (5) capable of pushing a lens (9) positioned in the receiving section through the truncated intermediate folding section to fold said lens gradually, then in the receiving chamber of an injection cartridge placed in the end section.
