  • Patent number: 6293039
Abstract: A pistol has a locking mechanism that locks the trigger mechanism of the pistol if an unauthorized person attempts to fire the pistol. The locking mechanism includes an identification unit to detect an identification signal and a control unit that compares the inputted signal with a stored identification pattern. An electromechanical actuator device actuates a locking element that can be moved into a locked position and into an unlocked position, which in the locked position locks the trigger tongue of the pistol. The pistol locking mechanism has a plurality of display elements that display the operating status of the locking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6289619
Abstract: The breech lock unit has a housing in which a strike hammer is mounted so that it can be pivoted around a shaft. A drive lever can be pivoted on the same shaft to a limited extent in both directions with respect to the hammer. The hammer is biased by a spring against the one stop with the lever. Connected to the lever is a connecting rod which is biased by a striker spring and in the base position is in contact with a stop surface on the housing. The configuration described above makes possible a slim construction and optimum drive conditions. A plurality of functions that conventionally require separately installed components can be realized in the one breech lock unit.

  • Patent number: 6266909
Abstract: A pistol includes a frame; a slide mounted on the frame for forward and rearward motions relative to the frame to assume a forward, basic position and a rearward, pulled-back position; a firing pin mounted in the slide for forward and rearward motions relative to the slide; a firing pin catch affixed to the firing pin and movable therewith as a rigid unit; a firing pin spring mounted in the slide and urging the firing pin in a forward direction; a trigger movably supported in the frame; a trigger rail coupled to the trigger for executing a triggering motion when the trigger is pulled; and a sear for operatively connecting the trigger rail with the firing pin catch such that during forward motion of the slide the sear arrests and holds the firing pin catch whereby the firing pin spring is armed and that upon pulling the trigger, the sear is moved away from the firing pin catch by the trigger rail for allowing the firing pin to accelerate forwardly as urged by the firing pin spring.

  • Patent number: 6263607
Abstract: A pistol includes a frame; a slide reciprocating on the frame between a forward position and a pulled-back position; a firing pin mounted in the slide for motions relative to the slide; a firing pin catch affixed to the firing pin; a firing pin spring mounted in the slide and urging the firing pin forwardly; a trigger supported in the frame; a trigger rail coupled to the trigger for executing a triggering motion when the trigger is pulled; and a sear for connecting the trigger rail with the firing pin catch such that during forward motion of the slide the sear arrests and holds the firing pin catch thus arming the firing pin spring and that upon pulling the trigger, the sear is moved away from the firing pin catch by the trigger rail for allowing the firing pin to accelerate forwardly. A manually operable disassembly member which has an open and a closed position, is movable into a pulled-out state for allowing the slide to be taken off the frame.

  • Patent number: 6253479
Abstract: The pistol comprises a frame. A trigger is mounted in the frame and is pivotable between a release position and a firing position and spring urged into the release position. The frame comprises a grip portion with a magazine well in which a magazine is removably inserted. A trigger bar is pivotally attached to the trigger and spring urged upwardly. The trigger bar has an abutment member at its rear end which coacts with a sear member that is movably mounted in the frame. A safety member is mounted on the grip portion and is movable between two positions. At its upper end the safety member has a catch for engaging the trigger bar. A second spring urges the safety member into its first position in which the catch pulls the trigger bar down out of engagement with the sear member. The safety member has an abutment face which is engaged by a part of the magazine when the latter is inserted. The part pushes the safety member into its second position in which the catch is out of engagement with the trigger bar.

  • Patent number: 6234059
Abstract: A pistol includes a cross-sectionally U-shaped frame which has first and second opposite side walls, a formed-on grip, a formed-on trigger guard, a first through bore provided in the first side wall and a second through bore provided in the second side wall in alignment with the first through bore. A structural unit is removably accommodated in the frame above the trigger guard and includes bilateral guide rails and a through aperture aligned with the first and second through bores. The structural unit is received in the frame with a form fit for preventing longitudinal displacements of the structural unit relative to the frame. A removable pin passes through the first and second through bores and the through aperture in the structural unit for removably securing the structural unit to the frame. A slide is received in the frame for forward and rearward reciprocating motions relative to the frame. The rails of the structural unit cooperate with the slide for guiding the slide during its reciprocating motions.

  • Patent number: 6141895
Abstract: A pistol includes a pistol grip; an elongated well provided in the pistol grip for receiving a magazine insertable into the well from below; a trigger guard carried by the pistol grip and having a region forming a transition to the pistol grip; and a manually engageable magazine release catch disposed in the transition region and extending into the well. The magazine release catch has a normal position for locking the magazine when disposed in the well and a manually depressed position for releasing the magazine when disposed in the well. The magazine release catch further has a manual engagement face exposed in the transition region and has, in a side view of the pistol, a triangular shape having three rounded corners. One of the corners is oriented in a forward direction of the pistol and the side of the triangular shape facing the forward-oriented corner extends approximately parallel to the length of the well.

  • Patent number: 6112446
Abstract: A weapon grip includes a grip body and a cross-sectionally generally U-shaped grip shell, each having opposite side walls and a rear wall interconnecting the side walls. The grip shell which is a one-piece component, is readily removably and replaceably inserted on the grip body in an installed position such that the walls of the grip body face the respective walls of the grip shell. The grip body and the shell body carry respective first and second abutment faces extending parallel to the length dimension of the grip body. The first and second abutment faces are in contact with one another in the installed position.

  • Patent number: 5899013
Abstract: The magazine lock includes a housing (1) with a magazine opening (2) and a trigger guard (3). In the housing (1), a two-armed, spring-loaded locking lever (7) is mounted so that it can pivot. The first arm (10) projects inside the trigger guard (3) for actuation. The second arm (12) is engaged in a recess (6) of the magazine (4). Hinged to the first arm (10) is a slide (24) which surrounds the magazine opening (2). The slide (24), on the second side facing the magazine (4), has a pin (28) which is engaged in a second recess (5) on the facing side of the magazine (4). The result is a secure locking of the magazine with a locking device which occupies very little vertical space.
