  • Publication number: 20110228431
Abstract: An electronic apparatus with electrostatic discharge protection includes: a conducting casing and a circuit board. The circuit board has a power ground node and a conditional conducting path, and is set inside the conducting casing. The conditional conducting path further includes: a conducting element and an electrostatic discharging component. One end of the conducting element is electrically connected to the conducting casing, and the electrostatic discharging component is electrically connected between another end of the conducting element and the power ground node. When the voltage variation between the two ends of the electrostatic discharging element reaches a preset condition, the electrostatic discharging component functions as a short circuit; otherwise, the electrostatic discharging element is equivalent to a high impedance element. The power ground node electrically connects to an electrode of a battery for using it as a vessel of receiving electrostatic charges.

  • Publication number: 20110169459
Abstract: A battery charging method is provided for extending life of batteries. The method includes providing an appropriate charge-off voltage with respect to variation in both of a remaining capacity and an idle time of the battery. Further, the charge-off voltage may vary according to the remaining capacity and the idle time of the battery, so as to increase charging efficiency of the battery. Additionally, the present invention also provides adjusting a charge-off current to a value according to the variation in an actual capacity of the battery.

  • Publication number: 20110057620
Abstract: A charge/discharge protection circuit adapted in an electronic apparatus and a discharge protection method are provided. The charge/discharge protection circuit comprises a positive electrode, a ground for discharging, a switch module, a battery module, a negative electrode for charging, a sensing device and a control module. The battery module is electrically connected to the switch module and the ground to form a discharging path. The switch module is electrically connected to the positive electrode. The sensing device is electrically connected to the battery module and the negative electrode to form a charging path. The sensing device passively disconnects the charging path when the charging path is abnormal. The control module actively turns the switch open when the discharging path, the charging path or the battery module is abnormal.

  • Patent number: 7749643
Abstract: A protective battery holding structure includes a heat-resistant battery holder that defines a receiving space for receiving at least one battery therein and is provided with at least one rib protruded toward the receiving space to point-contact with an outer surface of the battery. The point contact of the battery with the ribs on the heat-resistant battery holder prevents heat produced by the battery during operation from transferring to and thereby damaging an outer case of the battery holder. The ribs also increase the structural strength of the battery holder and stably locate the battery in the battery holder.

  • Patent number: 7632150
Abstract: A printed circuit board (PCB), which can be implemented on a battery set, having a plurality of soldering holes thereon. A soldering portion and a non-soldering portion are separately arranged around each of the soldering holes on both surfaces of the PCB. Each corresponding conductive stick can respectively pierce each soldering hole and be fixed to each soldering portion of the PCB with the fused solder or move from the soldering portion to the non-soldering portion in the soldering hole. Thus, this invention provides a convenient and efficient way for assembling the PCB on the battery set or disassembling the PCB apart from the battery set.
