    Abstract: A particle sizing and separating apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a base and a frame that is movably connected to the base. A motor assembly is provided to vibrate the frame and at least two screens are connected to the frame. Means also are provided for feeding particles to each screen from two opposing sides of each screen and for evenly distributing the particles onto the screens. A pan is disposed beneath each screen to receive sized particles that pass through the screens and an outlet receives oversize particles that pass over the screens.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for sizing and separating particles of generally low-density materials includes a stand, a frame movably suspended on the stand by a plurality of suspension assemblies, and an elongated screen box mounted on the frame. The screen box receives material to be processed at an input end and includes openings at an output end for discharging processed material. The frame and screen box are disposed at an incline relative to a horizontal surface on which the stand rests, so that material travels downwardly in the screen box toward the output openings. A vibrator motor is mounted on the frame input end. The arrangement of the motor and suspensions results in imposition of a combination generally circular planar motion to the frame and screen box at the input end and a generally oblong linear reciprocating motion at the central portion and the output end of the apparatus.

    Abstract: An apparatus for separating coarse particles from a fluid or wet stream, optionally containing fine particles, includes a frame, a screen box, means attached to the frame and to the screen box for movably suspending the screen box on the frame for vibratory motion, a pair of opposing screens which are mounted in the screen box and which allow liquids and fine particles to pass through to the bottom of the screen box to separate discharge openings associated with each screen and allows coarse particles to pass over each screen and onto a single centrally positioned discharge chute, and motor means attached to the screen box for vibrating the screen box and screens mounted thereto. The apparatus can be used for such separation operations as dewatering, desliming and wet scalping, and is especially useful for applications wherein the oversize or coarse particles constitute a major portion of the total feed.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for sizing and separating particles of a material. The apparatus includes a stand, a frame having a pair of ends and an intermediate portion, and suspension assemblies attached to the stand and the frame for movably suspending the frame on the stand. A pair of inclined screens are removably mounted in a pair of screen boxes removably mounted on the frame, with each of the screens sloping downwardly from the intermediate portion of the frame toward a respective one of the ends of the frame. At least one motor is mounted on the frame for vibrating the frame and attached screens, and a feed box is mounted on the stand adjacent to and above upper ends of the screens for supplying a material to be sized. The method of the invention includes the steps of actuating the motor and depositing a material onto the upper ends of the screens via the feed box, so that the vibrating screens can simultaneously size and separate particles of the material.
