Abstract: The present invention relates to a preparation method of a lube base oil including a conversion of biomass fat to a fatty acid; a separation of a C18 unsaturated fatty acid from the fatty acid; a maximization of an oleic acid content through partial hydrotreating of the C18 unsaturated fatty acid; a synthesis of a dimer or higher-order oligomer through an oligomerization of the oleic acid; and an esterification of the oligomer, and relates to a lube base oil prepared therefrom. The lube base oil of the present invention contains an x-type diester dimer and has an excellent low-temperature stability and a high biodegradability resulting from its chemical structure, thus being ecofriendly.

Abstract: A method for preparing a ketone group-containing estolide compound and a ketone group-containing estolide compound prepared thereby are disclosed. The method for preparing a ketone group-containing estolide compound includes converting biomass fat into a fatty acid; separating the fatty acid into a C16 saturated fatty acid and a C18 unsaturated fatty acid; increasing an amount of oleic acid through partial hydrogenation of the C18 unsaturated fatty acid; synthesizing a C35 ketone through ketonization of the oleic acid; and performing estolide bonding by capping the C16 saturated fatty acid onto the C35 ketone.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing high-quality naphthenic base oils comprising a high aromatic content and a large amount of impurities with a boiling point higher than that of gasoline. High-quality naphthenic base oil may be manufactured from light cycle oil (LCO) and slurry oil (SLO), which are inexpensive, and have a high aromatic content, a large amount of impurities, and which are effluents of a fluidized catalytic cracking (FCC) unit. The method also relates to the pretreatment process of a feedstock, where the amounts of impurities (sulfur, nitrogen, polynuclear aromatic compounds and various metals components) in the feedstock are reduced.

Abstract: The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition for reducing a friction coefficient adjacent to the surface of being subjected to lubrication. In particular, the present invention provides nanoporous particles capable of being dispersed in a lubricating oil composition comprising base oil having a lubricant viscosity. Since the nanoporous particles having nano-sized, oil soluble pores according to the present invention reduces a friction coefficient, and in the long term, gradually releases an effective ingredient, the lubricating oil composition comprising the same of the present invention can act as a reducing agent for reducing friction for a long period of time, and thereby, exhibit excellent lubricant effects.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of producing feedstock of high-quality lube based oil by producing coker gas oil (CGO) from vacuum residue (VR) or a mixture (VR/AR) of atmospheric residue (AR) and vacuum residue (VR), performing a hydrotreating process and a hydrocracking process by mixing the coker gas oil (CGO) with vacuum gas oil (VGO) to form unconverted oil (UCO), and then recycling the unconverted oil. The method of producing feedstock of high-quality lube based oil is advantageous in that feedstock of high-quality lube based oil can be more economically and efficiently produced using cheap coker gas oil (CGO), which is hard to treat.
