  • Patent number: 4654181
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacture of a rolling body directly on a bearing, comprising a hub, a roller sleeve, an annular portion joining the hub and roller sleeve, and reinforcing ribs on either side of the annular portion. Injected material fills the recesses for forming the reinforcing ribs from two directions: a primary flow radially inwardly directed from the mold portion for forming the roller sleeve and a secondary flow radially outwardly directed from the mold portion for forming the hub. The total cross-sectional area of the recesses for forming the reinforcing ribs is adjusted with respect to the circumferential cross-sectional area of the mold portion for forming the annular portion so that the fronts of the primary and secondary flows meet in the recesses. Pressure-release openings are arranged to communicate with the recesses at points in the area at which the meeting of the flow fronts occurs.

  • Patent number: 4640632
Abstract: The rolling bearing of a guide roller is held in the bore of a thin wall roller adapted to guide a pulley, by projections radially inwardly extending from the thin wall roller. The projections may be in the form of beads having planar surfaces in a plane normal to the axis of the bearing on the side facing the bearing, or they may be notches having one side thereof separating from the material of the roller to be forced radially inwardly to engage the sides of the bearing. The notches may be resilient, to enable the bearing to be snapped into position.

  • Patent number: 4635331
Abstract: A method for the production of a guide rail for linear guiding and having a hardened rolling body race groove on opposite sides of the guide rail. In order to minimize production costs and avoid cutting of the race grooves, the race grooves are initially spaced at a distance that is greater or smaller than their finally desired value, by an incremental distance. Grooves are provided centrally in the guide rail between the opposed race grooves, and the race rail is then hardened except in the region of the central grooves. Compression rollers in the race grooves or central grooves are then forced into the guide rail to decrease or increase respectively the distance between the race grooves until the desired distance therebetween is obtained. The method can also be employed when only a single race groove is provided on the rail.

  • Patent number: 4621402
Abstract: The invention pertains to a process and a device for the assembly of universal joints. In order to reduce the defect of center misalignment of the joint parts with respect to each other which characterized the joints after assembly, the center misalignment resulting from different pressing forces on the bearings and from other manufacturing tolerances are measured according to the invention during assembly, whereupon appropriate corrective forces are generated to eliminate the misalignment of the centers.

  • Patent number: 4605113
Abstract: A clutch release, in particular for automobile clutches, comprises a sliding sleeve having a radially outwardly directed flange and an annular groove, a clutch release bearing having an outer ring with a flange that slidably abuts the sliding sleeve flange, and a generally oval-shaped spring ring having a pair of mutually parallel guiding surfaces. The spring ring is arranged between the outer ring and the annular groove at points mutually displaced in the axial direction. The bearing is arranged to rotate relative to the sliding sleeve in the circumferential direction within predetermined limits and to move in a radial direction along the guiding surfaces by overcoming a radially acting frictional force between the slidably abutting flanges. The spring ring has a substantially bow-shaped profile and is slotted. The inner ring of the bearing has a radially outwardly directed pressure flange for abutting with the diaphragm spring of a clutch.
