  • Patent number: 10015637
Abstract: A system for presence monitoring and in particular for presence monitoring in multiple presence buildings, so that emergency services can get an accurate presence list in the case of an emergency. A mobile device belonging to a user outputs a location notification to a location module when it crosses a geofence defining the boundaries of a facility. The location module monitors the location of one or more mobile devices belonging to users and outputs an indication whenever a location notification is received. A register module then operates in response to the location module to generate an up to date presence list for the facility based on the identity of monitored devices within the geofence. An interface outputs the presence list on demand and can transmit the presence list to one or more external devices or locations in response to an evacuation alarm.

  • Publication number: 20170318482
Abstract: A self-organizing backhaul radio (SOBR) and related arrangements are disclosed. A “primary” link between an first SOBR enabled radio and a second SOBR radio includes a secondary transmission link, referred to as a signature control channel (SCC), as a spread spectrum modulated signal embedded within and transmitted simultaneously with the primary link. The SCC transmissions from the first SOBR radio may be utilized by other SOBR enabled radios to determine an interference level to or from the first SOBR radio's primary link. The SCC transmission may be utilized to allow transmit beam forming between SOBR-enabled radios without damaging other friendly SOBR radios within the propagation distance of the transmitted signals based upon the detection of the SCC transmissions.

  • Patent number: 9631959
Abstract: A dam-shaped throttling block for use in a pipe, for the measurement of the flow rates of fluids. The shapes of four successive flat surfaces on the throttling block angularly-displaced relative one another in the flow direction, together with an aperture in the one of the flat surfaces extending parallel to the pipe longitudinal axis, create reduction of a cross-sectional area in one step from one that is unthrottled to one that is throttled, extending for a limited distance in the pipe, and then expansion of the cross-sectional area in two steps from the throttled one back to the unthrottled one so to provide for accurate measurements and an improved lifetime. Flow rates of highly viscous fluids and fluids that contain solid particles can be measured. Other benefits include reduced head loss, wide measurement range and reduced installation space.

Abstract: Multiple retail fuel stores are optimized using system having a computer in communication with a database. Remote computing devices are connected to the first computer by a communication system. Electronic signs receive an instruction over the communication system. The system creates a correlation matrix having fuel prices for the retail fuel stores, a reward discount, and competitor fuel prices, a profit for the fuel prices for each of the retail fuel stores, and a volume. It also creates an economic model that receives a number of correlation coefficients from the correlation matrix at the first computer. A multi-store optimization process configures the economic model to determine optimal fuel prices for retail fuel stores based on a total multi-store profit.
