Abstract: A peanut picking machine has a side mounted fork to lift dried peanut heaps and dump them into a hopper. A conveyor feeds crop from the hopper to peanut picking apparatus through a feed opening. An adjustable shutter controls the rate of feed through the opening both by virtue of its position and its attitude with respect to the conveyor.
Abstract: Peanut digging apparatus having a quick-attach side delivery conveyor for the peanut crop. With said conveyor detached, crop can be deposited directly behind the apparatus. With said conveyor attached crop can be deposited at a laterally offset position. Using these two modes of operation successively, large windrows of crop can be built up in stages while allowing time between said stages for natural drying of the crop.
Abstract: Automatic height control system for crop pick up reel of peanut combine. The implement is supported at the front on the draught links of a tractor and at the rear on its own ground wheels. A height sensing wheel adjacent the pick-up reel senses ground contours. A linkage of pivotally interconnected links transmits height control signals from the height sensing wheel to the top control link of the tractor's hitch whereby the tractor's draught control system maintains the reel at constant height.
