Patents Assigned to So-Lite Corporation
  • Patent number: 7566265
Abstract: A ridge seal assembly has a first molded unit having a flat nailing portion and a portion to conform to pan and cap areas of roof tiles, the nailing portion and the cover portion are contiguous and may have openings. The nailing portion has a first straight edge away from the tile-cover portion. A second like unit has openings that do not align with the openings in the first portion. The first and second molded units are joined along the first and second straight edges of the nailing portions, and spaced apart along the opposite edges, such that in an orientation to place over roof tiles and nail to the ridge beam, the first unit is above the second unit.

  • Patent number: 6840014
Abstract: A ridge seal molding has a back section for nailing to a ridge beam, and a front section formed at an angle to the back section and having a shape in the direction of the length to substantially continuously contact adjacent tiles along a front edge. In various embodiments there are one or more reinforcing ribs in the general direction of the width of the molding. In some embodiments two or more nail positions are marked in the back section for use with roofs of a specific pitch range, UV resistant material to provide improved durability, a receptacle groove formed along the front edge and opening downward toward the tile, such that a sealing material may be placed in the groove prior to installing the ridge seal molding to a roof ridge, and panels simulating a concrete surface for a mudded-in look. A system is provided as well for dedicating ridge seals to specific pitch ranges.

  • Patent number: 6810627
Abstract: A ridge seal molding having a length and width has a nailing flange with one straight edge to engage a ridge beam, the nailing potion for nailing the molding to the ridge beam, providing thereby a continuous contact along at least the one straight edge the length of the molding to the ridge beam, and a cover section formed generally at an angle to and contiguous with the nailing portion and having an undulating shape of adjacent cap and pan portions in the direction of the length to match the undulating shape of adjacent tiles along a front edge, the cover section having a sealing edge of an undulating shape opposite the one straight edge of the nailing potion.

  • Patent number: 6415559
Abstract: An eave closure for tile roofing has a nailing flange having a surface extending along a length of the closure, a planar riser potion contiguous with the nailing flange at an angle to the surface of the nailing flange, the riser portion conforming on an upper edge to the shape of the underside of adjacent installed tiles, and a lip reinforcement along the shaped upper edge of the riser portion, the lip extending substantially at a right angle to the plane of the riser portion. In some embodiments the nailing flange has weep passages formed along a width of the flange, such that air may circulate between inside and outside an installed closure. In some of these embodiments the weep passages are grooves formed in the width of the nailing flange and following a center line, with at least one change in direction across the width of the nailing flange. In preferred embodiments the material for molding is a UV-resistance polymer material.

  • Patent number: 6243995
Abstract: An eave closure for tile roofing has a nailing flange with a surface extending along a full length of the closure, and a riser portion contiguous with the nailing flange at substantially a right angle to the surface of the nailing flange, the riser portion shaped on an upper edge to conform to the shape of the underside of adjacent installed tiles. The riser portion has molded reinforcing grooves adding vertical strength to the eave closure to provide adequate strength to combat permanent deformation in use. In some cases weep passages are also provided, and the weep passages may have at least one change in direction to foil wind-driven rain. In some embodiments a second enclosure is provided to be installed with the first, to hide the reinforcing grooves. In another embodiment an injection-molded closure is provided with angled reinforcements.
