Abstract: This invention relates to a process for manufacturing a flat, fibrous, supple substrate, difficult to tear, said process consisting in:preparing by fibrillation natural cellulosic fibers until their drainability is greater than 60.degree. Schopper-Riegler,mixing in water a batch of cellulosic fibers thus refined and at least 30% by weight on dry matter of artificial fibers, with respect to the whole quantity of said artificial and cellulosic fibers,diluting the mixture obtained,and producing a substrate sheet from a machine supplied with the mixture.The invention is more particularly applicable to the manufacture of envelopes and sachets.

Abstract: This invention relates to the paper-making domain and especially to a forgery-proof safety paper, which includes on its surface and/or in its mass, at least one compound responding to formula: ##STR1## in which: R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 may be either H, OH, or OR,R being a hydrocarbon chain, substituted or not, straight, cyclic or aromatic,with A forming one or more cycles, substituted or not. This invention is particularly applicable to forgery-proof safety papers such as cheques or handwritten documents for payment.

Abstract: The base paper, according to the invention, comprises at least on one face:a first coat or base coat of a conventional coating slip applied at the rate of 3 to 25 g/m2,at least one superposed coat, applied at the rate of 1 to 10 g/m2, and containing conventional pigments, at least one conventional binder and gloss pigments in the proportion of at least 20% by weight on dry matter with respect to the whole fill of pigments of said superposed coat, and having a granulometry comprised between 0.05 and 1 .mu.m, and being preferably around 0.5 .mu.m.The invention finds an application in the production of a high gloss paper.

The recording sheet for ink-jet printing according to the invention includes, in its coating, a polyhydroxylic polymeric binder with the hydroxyl groups in the cis position, which has been gelled or coagulated with boric acid and/or its derivatives during coating, and a filler with a high absorption capacity. Application to recording paper for ink-jet printing.
